Has your gaffer mentioned any of the targets that the board are after instead of Harry's recommendations, Ryan?

Does this mean that even though you keep hearing Rossi mentioned that DL is not actually going to try to get him?

There has obviously been encouraging discussions between Harry and levy because like I posted a few weeks back, Harry was making noises in private suggesting we were gonna pay beyond 100k, that he believes the chairman is gonna make a big statement, that Rossi was dry much getable. However the confidence is clearly wailing and it's my impression that Harry believes he's being towed along

Not wanting him to appointed manager in the first place is one thing.
But carrying that agenda on, from the minute he was appointed, is another. Carrying it on when we climbed well away from the bottom of the league, carrying it on when we finished in the top 4 that is, frankly, pathetic. Seeming dlighted that we (just) missed out on top 4 last season, out of a desperate need to feel vindicated in carrying this agenda on, rather than being disappointed for the club - I cringe at that type of attitude, personally.

I hated the idea of George Graham being appointed manager, but from the second he was appointed I desperately (DESPERATELY) wanted him to succeed, for the abundantly obvious reason that he is the manager of the club I suport and I want the club to succeed.
/ of reasoning lesson for day:roll:

I agree mate..it just totally baffles me. Everyones entiled to their opinon, I would like to think we all want to see spurs do well, although I think a small minority want to see us struggle for a couple of months so Harry gets sacked and is replaced by their flavour of the month..and then the cycle starts again.
I just find this strange, as a regular to the lane, once I'm there I want us to win nothing else matters.

Harry ain't happy people. Just had my gaffer ranting. I seems that he is being ignored. Is this te same old same old? Harry names targets and the board say cheers Harry, then shop elsewhere. Something is a miss here. We've still got a great squad of players but Harry is making it clear to some that they are welcome to stay when it seems the board want shot. Is this the hold up that the journo was alluding to?

I'd expect another "it's gonna be tough to finish 6th" speech anytime soon

This is due to Redknapp being the type of guy who tells everyone what they want to hear. He should be in 100% agreement with board strategy or keep quiet i reckon

Let's see just how much backing Harry gets as if I was him I would be telling levy what the fuck is going on if he can't do the deals then Harry should quit and do himself a favour.
Levy is a penny counter which is no good when your trying to build a football club he's better off being an accountant somewhere else, the clubs that mean business have bought their players and are getting their squads settled but our chairman is looking for cut price bargains.
No wonder clubs don't like dealing with levy he would be better of buying from north Weald Market that's right up his street.
Does anyone know if diarra has signed for psg yet.

Our game v Everton was said to be off because a reporter on Talkshite is at the Premier League launch today, and he spoke to one of the league's reps who said the match will be off and it will be announced later today. This was said at about 10:45.

Unless the other games are called off aswell this is bad news for us. We'll start the season against United and City who will have had at least 2 competitive games under their belts by that point.

I hope we'll have new players by then, but I'm very skeptical.

Hmm, ok, that makes things a bit more clearer (sort of) in my mind.

I personally think, from going on what you have said, that DL does want to make a statement of intent, but that he will only do so once the space is available in the squad, or at least that there are players off of the wage bill.

This seems to be annoying Harry and hence the frustration is seeping in. Let's hope that once a few have left that we can then get on with the business of trying to get a Rossi in.

I'm probably in the minority here, but I am still remaining positive about what we are going to do in the transfer window.

We see constantly how much Redknapp pressures the board to show ambition. He says we need to pay big money to get top players etc..

As Ryan says Redknapp doesn't care about the money which is understandable, it's not his!! If Levy wasn't so strong we would be stuck with more older players on big wages with no sell on value. Levy is gonna be here well after Redknapp fucks off so I back the chairman 100% on this one.

There never seems to be any affinity with the club coming from Redknapp he constantly talks about the us in the third person. Says we can't compete etc.. etc.. How about he backs the club and chairman for once rather than just moan about how it is so hard! He should keep his mouth shut and just coach the team. We will never hear Levy's point of view but I can imagine he wishes the manager would work with him sometimes rather than against.

IF WE DON'T SPEND WE WON'T BE ABLE TO COMPETE.

Rip into the guy for telling it how it is, and how the fuck is a club going down the pan his fault?

I'm Not pro/anti Redknapp/Levy but I can understand frustration of both parties.

If Redknapp is giving Levy his list of the likes of; P Neville, S Parker, J Cole, Carlton Cole, Kenwyne Jones (Benayoun?) To add to the previous buys of Keane, Crouch, Defoe, (all who come with hig Salaries/prices. whilst saying we want to keep Jenas, Hutton, Defoe, Crouch etc, then it's understandable that Levy is Looking elsewhere.

But i refuse to believe that Redknapp, would not want some of the names that have been bandied around on here just because he doesn't know them well enough...

Maybe 'arry's just more realistic about which players we can attract that can improve us?

But If DL Doesn't see the point in backing 'arry with short term signings with little sell on, then maybe best for us that we do part ways a little earlier than planned.

However this would be met by a media/fan backlash, due to it 'possibly' damaging his chances of getting the England job. And because of what Harry did 2 seasons ago.

It's a tough one certainly, Good luck 'arry/Dl
