This is true.

A striker last summer was desirable, it wasn't desperation stakes as nobody could of envisaged all of our strikers under performing to the extent they did, even with the late arrival of VDV.

No-one could have envisaged Defoe getting crocked before the season had been going five minutes, either, and even in January it wasn't unreasonable to believe he'd hit a patch of form and scrape into double figures before the end of the season. There's been an awful lot of 20-20 hindsight, and I do wonder where all the Defoe-bashers were a few seasons ago. Probably chanting, 'Jermain Defoe, he's a yiddo'.

When Spurs fans turn on a player, they really turn.

god some of you are in for a disappointing weekend. Far too quick to shoot your load over a complete stranger making extremely vague positve utterances.

Its not one person - there have been various sources suggesting it, and its been building momentum.

I would, waste of money, no better than pav or crouch, not worth whatever the price. :bang:

He has scored something like 100 goals in 160 games for Benfica, if he can replicate something similar he could be brilliant. He is a massive risk, because he has failed to prove himself in the international team. He can however play one up front, which none of our strikers are suited at. So this is a plus. Like I say though, if this signing is with the intention to be our main man I would be slightly upset.

People need to be more realistic about are targets, we have a strict wage system and all the superstars will all have better offers. We need to take a risk. Someone who might be brilliant, not someone who already is.

Imagine lining up against utd with Diarra, Hulk and Adebayor in the side. Think even the Utd fans would drop a few logs at the prospect of facing our midfield/attack.

domestic scoring is amazing but at international level he is poor.

Why the hell some people set such store by international performances I have no idea. Milan Baros has a brilliant international scoring record. Should we sign him?

You could also say the same thing about Falcao though

I think in these situations, players in weaker leagues etc. it's best to throw stats out the window and watch the guy play... Make no mistake, Falcao is the tits.

Getting Keano off our books would really help us to free up some wages. He's been a great player for this club over the years and we will always remember him (for his pointing!) but it's time to move on.

Keano... fook off!
