TBH when a new man comes in he will always want his own players. Look at Man U. Apart from around 3 players its massively unrecognizable from Fergies team.
I doubt we would see so much upheaval if Poch is here for a few more years.

what you talking about LVG relies on his youth products ;)

If Soldado is sold, then that is surely as sign that we have signed another striker. Soldado would have been sold a month ago if it wasn't for waiting for an incoming.
I wondered about this or maybe it is close. I know I am being optimistic here though as no ITK has confirmed this. Can only imagine that something has progressed. I'm pleased it seems a more considered approach but it's just getting a little squeaky bum time and if God forbid the result and performance doesn't go our way at the weekend then I can sense the oncoming smell of burning pitchforks...

I'd imagine N'jie and Soldado will have medicals today and both move at the same time.

That random airport info, plus if Lamela has posted a goodbye, sounds promising. There were multiple suggestions from Trix/JJ/GF about how transfer dealings are all small parts of one big puzzle, and once one piece fits, the others fall into place.
Njie gets the green light, so, confident we have boosted our attacking options, we pull the trigger on Soldado leaving, then with his fee and wages in hand we go after our next target... Fingers crossed. I'm expecting the Berahino rumours to pick back up now.

Does seem an element of deck clearing, down to 2 per position plus youth options. Not a bad route to go down. Can look towards adding just one key player per year in future, rather than wholesale changes.

I thought the same too, maybe Soldado going means we are about to push forward with Berahino.

However in all likelihood Bobby is off simply because N'Jie is on his way.

Actually... ITK Update 168:

Who: Hertyid and Jasper
When: 3rd August
Where: COYS and SO

hertyid on SB wanting to join us: Yes it's WBA hoping for a higher bid from one of the Mancs.

Jasper: Here it is, and very simple! Bobby will not be sold until we confirm a new striker signing, even if not announced!

Perhaps there'll pass each other in the Air, and give the other a wink and a nod as well.
Lets hope Bobby doesn't pass the strikers curse onto Clinton mid air. When you think of Rebrov, Postiga, Pav etc...we've had some high hopes get crushed following the old chicken badge aint we

With Soldado leaving, we will have no striker on the bench this weekend either...... Seriously... They (Levy & Co) want CL, yet every season they handicap the team, by continuing to act like this....

Yeah having Soldado on the bench would have made the difference against Stoke for sure.

I like Levy and do think he is doing hos best but this is poor for a top football club.

For those thinking that Clinton could be in the squad for Saturday I very much doubt it, even if he signed today, no training with teammates it would be ridiculous!!

Thanks for this, hopefully it is still relevant. Potentially good news if all is good although I do hope it's our Berahino boy or similiar as opposed to some up and coming starlet (although one of those could be good lol!)

UPDATE:...Although thinking about it's because of N'Jie isn't it?!

Poch is just trimming the squad to his preferred 22 + kids.

Future windows will probably be more 1 out, 1 in; or 1 out, youth promoted. But we won't have to shift anything like the 13-15 we have this summer again. I guess that's the consequence of having 4 very different managers in 3 years.

5 outs, 3 ins and about £75m worth of business is still a lot to do in the next 2.5 weeks, even if Nigel and Soldado happen today.

That is all dependant on how advanced the negotiations for other players are.

If personal terms have been agreed, they may well happen fairly quickly, once terms between the clubs are agreed.

You do realise that what we have done is replace a backup striker with a backup striker?

This wasn't a deal that if we had had it done on the 1st of july would have made the difference between a cl place.
