Actually I think he said we did put in an early bid for Lloris, it was rejected and we haven't gone back since. So it could still happen I guess if Lyon return with a more reasonable valuation of their keeper.

I meant that he has been dismissive that Lloris is close, while others have said its virtually done. JJ says no. Akqayid says done.

As much as Ade, Verts and Gylfi and top signings, you can't say any of them are world class.

Verts certainly has the potential to be, but until they've delivered season after season at the highest level then they can, in no way be described as 'world class' yet.

As a small anecdote. My sunday team play training matches (8 a-side) against a young aspiring semi-pro team that produces professionals every couple of years. They are a really good young side, anyways, we were playing yesterday and they made a sub and guess who comes jogging on? Rohan bloody Ricketts! He comes from the area (Clapham) so knew the manager of the team and the players etc. He's still quality but you could see he wasn't really giving it everything. I was in midfield against him and couldn't get anywhere near him at all...........

We beat them though!

It got me thinking back to when he was one of the better players in our team and how we had that crazy French lad on loan (can't remember his name but he was a winger). At the time many of us were saying how if we want to move forward we need to keep players like that.

Just a bit of context for where we are now!

Now, we should know by now that we can't very well sign anyone until we've had the obligatory "Official Site is always a day or two behind on announcements" "No, OS is updated the second the signing is made" "No it's not, SSN is first" "SSN smells" "You smell" "No you smell" debate. It's a rite of passage.
