I agree with what you're saying. The problem I have is that isn't this a similar situation to when we qualified for the CL under Redknapp? I know the TV revenue wasn't as big then, but on the flip side we didn't have the stadium to pay for.

As ever, it's encouraging, but I'll believe it when I see it.

Now we have sustained success under a younger manager, with a younger squad, and more revenue coming in as a result, despite the stadium. Redknapp always felt a bit like a crazy situation that might not last. You'd hope it's clear to Levy that Poch has taken us up a level on the pitch and so laid the foundations for us to go up a level as a whole club. As a businessman, you'd also hope he can see Poch has also added a lot of value to this club.

I do hope this means that Levy won't try to haggle and drag out deals. A part of me love that aspect of Levy but we all know the importance of 1) Getting the target the manager wants 2) Getting the targets in as early as possible. Pochettino obviously wanted Mané but got Sissoko. Mané cost £4 million more than Sissoko.

There is always the possibility that a player we want chooses another club but if we're not even prepared to pay what other clubs are prepared to pay we're not even contending.

Cheers GF! Interesting that you even need to supply Levy with a list of "not wanted" (unless this is in reference to contracts rather than signings).
The "Not Wanted" is going to be a list of Players that Poch is happy to see sold. Not a list of Players he doesn't want Levy to sign.

Do not think Alderweireld deserves a new fat contract. A sulking idiot who has largely delivered a poor season with little impact and created a fuzz is unworthy. If he has all of the sudden fully recomitted and is gung-ho about next season, yeah maybe a little improvement is fine. But he is not worthy of a golden contract, the way he has behaved and most importantly played on the pitch.

Yep. This. He's been a fine servant and a wonderful player, but clearly has been acting the prick behind the scenes this year and his social media team have irritated me more than they probably should have. A fully fit and focused Toby i would take back in a heartbeat, on our terms.

Hopefully the ITk points towards bumper contracts for Kane, Dele, Eriksen and Jan at least...

Thanks for the info guys.

If we buy De Ligt, Sessegnon and NDombele, will we have much change from £150m?

Rose today reminded me what we’ve been missing in that full back area, since Walker left and he went all weird. It’s an area I hope we address.
Rose and KWP showed what proper attacking full backs can do though if course it also showed the weakness if three at the back is not played against teams with real attacking threat

If this summer ends with us feeling like we could take on the world like we did in the summer of 2013, then Levy's done well. Hope that any new signings fit most importantly and Poch and the squad currently see the assurances they're looking for

all the evidence points to the fact that Poch wanted Sissoko

Toby want's to be compensated for his worth. What's so wrong with that? He knows he should be a top paid CB in the world, he should get that if thats what he wants. Should we be upset at you if you go take more money at another job if you think that would be deserved?

show your worth it, don't just down tools. yes hes been fantastic for us, but if he had a rough patch cant we deduct 40/50k from his wages cos he aint performing?

I imagine many of the players will be jetting off to join national teams and/or vacations. Anyone know what timetable they have? If ITK is on point I can't imagine there is a large window of time to complete contract ups unless some are already done and just need pen to paper and media day.

World Cup squads aren't named until end of this week, or week after, and even then it's an initial 35 man squad.
I would imagine all players are at the training ground today/tomorrow for post match/post season evaluations etc.

Going back to the latest ITK, I presume the "Not Wanted" list is a list of players to sell, as opposed to Levy recommending some and Poch saying no thanks... Mind you, based on Sissoko, it may well be the latter.

Did anyone say he "downed tools"?
Don't remember reading that anywhere. He got injured, stalled on contract negotiations, but no word on not working hard in training etc. We know that Poch won't pick players if they aren't committed to the club and its future. Clearly he had to towards the end of the season due to injuries.

As a long time BSoDL I must admit that I am a little concerned that DL might underestimate how firm Poch is with regards targets.
The no trophy media army have pissed off Poch because they fail to take into account he isnt playing on a level playing field.
DL needs to give Poch and the top players the equipment to go and achieve the success they deserve.
Having done the hard part, is DL able to do the easy part and buy two top quality players to take us to the next level.
Sadly I have my doubts.
COYDL prove me wrong.

love this to be true, the smugness of shearer last night on motd - spurs will not change etc. twat!

Had the same at work this morning from Liverpool and Palace fans. Talksport too. Thing is can't blame them looking at the past and expecting different.

That said I do believe we will make a statement this summer, shit or twist seems right, will blow a lot of tiny minds.
