Surly the aim is to pay your current team/squad what they are worth, which lessens the risk of pissing them off as and when the marquee signings are made on fat contracts.
I think it works both ways really. There might be contract offers on the table already, and if the players are happy to sign immediately thats great, and if not, the contract offers will stay on the table until we have done our business. Contracts not being signed might lead to a sale of certain players, as we should expect with Toby.
