I think Llorente is the fall back option if Rossi will not be sold.

Didn' BEN say Llorrente is a no go... also he is not in the same playing style as Rossi so would expect someone more like a El Pocho or Zarate style of player if that is what they are after...

without sounding a proper negative asshole, IMO all the "world class" strikers are going to be no-go's. Spurs will end up with Adebayor or someone like Gyan's level. Really, really, really don't see Levy forking out 30m+ for a striker.

I'm not sure they know themselves

Or didn't, as the case may be.

Also, now that Rossi is a "no go", after 8 months of chasing, we can focus on Plan B now, which was Vucinic.

:bang:

As Villareal's el presidente made it very plain yesterday or the day before that Rossi's going nowhere unless someone stumps up £/€44m, this latest communique is a clear contender for this window's 'No shit, Sherlock' award.

The ITK that Levy hasnt been in Portugal
means that the realistic deals now is Diarra & Adebayor but that wouldnt be bad either :)

Jamie Redknapp is quoted in the Mail on Sunday saying (about a possibke £35M bid for Modric) - "you could buy two or three great players for that". Doesn't sound like he's expecting us to splash £30M plus on a striker, does it?

He also said (somewhere on SSN) 2 or 3 days ago that if he was being totally honest, he thinks Chelsea will get him by September 1st

That Roger Morgan latest ITK in the Read Only section was posted yesterday on SO. I've just caught up with it now.

So Harry now wants to sell Modric, the very same player that he moaned about for the last few months that we had to keep, Doesn't surprise me, And guess which one will come out of this smelling of roses, Guess which one will come out of this with a major backlash from the fans. I feel sorry for Levy right now, Any chance we could get Ancelotti in before this coming thursday or does he have one of those Chelsea no compete clauses for a year?

DP, Your theory is becoming more apparent everyday my friend

of course Redknapp would sell Modric, he can see what effect its having on the team, no doubt about it a player who doesn't want to be there no matter 'how professional' they are it'll grate on the players who DO want to be there.

Redknapp knows this, so knows he should be sold or it'll effect the team badly.

but we all know TEAM LEVY will spin this and make Redknapp look bad.

in fact part of me hope's Redknapp does walk/gets sacked just to see spurs fail.

The more and more I see Redknapp in this transfer window and now Roger Morgan's latest revelation the more I think Redknapp is small time and can't hack it. Do you see Fergie, Mourinho react in this way if one of their top players want to leave. Look how Fergie handled the Rooney saga. Chalk and cheese.

What's DP's theory. IMO Redknapp will use it as an excuse for not achieving next years objectives. He'll spend the money on shot we won't be able to sell off and will fuck off to the England job!

Where has this Falcao stuff come from?

Presumably this utter bollocks based on blind hope, ala Rossi, Llorente et al, or has there actually been some ITK?

Precisely this.

I truly believe that whilst Redknapp has done a good job for Spurs, he is now out of his depth with the world class players we now have and should be trying to sign. IMHO he showed this last year with VDV. He really didn't seem to know what to do to accommodate him.

TEAM LEVY will spin this? Are you honestly telling me that Redknapp doesn't have his own spin machine. In fact he's the one who always come out smelling like roses what ever he does, despite his obvious failings. Don't get me wrong though I think Redknapp has done a great job and would never have thought of getting shot of at the end of last season - however his conduct in January and this window is seriously making me reconsider my position.

Makes the Hearts game interesting, though. If Modric plays, he's cup-tied for both Europa and CL, but 'Arry says he's our only fit CM.

Completely conflicting itk again, so levy has a clone in Portugal whilst he remains in the uk and redknapp also has a clone that wants to sell modric when he has said all along he doesn't want to sell our best players
