Krul would be great. Leandro would be great.

I am not sure about Hoilett, has a bit of pace but seems to lack the technical ability to survive at the highest level. Saying that though could be a great impact sub as currently we don't have the any pacy wingers as options if Bale or Lennon are injured.

Hoilett does naff all unless the ball is played to his feet the few times ive seen him on the box, didnt chase anything and certainly didnt track back. These things can of course be rectified by a good bollocking.

Buying another Centre Back in January would certainly give us more options if Harry wants to try 3-5-2 again. With Bale and Walker wing backs they have the pace and energy to be effective both offensively and defensively while allowing us to play with 3 in the middle (Modric, Parker & Sandro) against teams that crowd the midfield. I still feel that with our starting eleven recently that we are on the short side and struggle at set pieces in both boxes.

I can only see us getting another CB if Bassong goes, we still have King, Gallas, Dawson, Kaboul so that would be 5 we would still have, and if it is Cahill then they would be wanting to start so we would have 5 good CB's for 2 or 3 places, and still have other players who are able to cover at the back!

Pav out, striker in. Bassong out, centre-back in. Right midfielder (first choice or back-up/versatile). If we do two of those three, I'll be happy enough.

That sounds sensible to me. Something like:

Leandro in for Pav
Vertonghen in for Bassong
Remy as a right sided player

would be excellent business.

Then sort out Ade and a GK in the summer.

Could add Gomes out and a younger keeper in during this window or next as well, someone who can learn just now of the 2 very experianced keepers we have just now and then take over when ready

It's not urgent business at a time when prices are inflatted though. Backup for Ade has to be the priority this window.

The only thing I'd do on the GK front in Jan would be to at least try for Adler on a pre-contract.

Gomes' contract runs out in the summer though so its almost certain he'll be leaving so we can make some money back on him.

I don't think we'll get nearly that level of business. As long as we get another striker I'll be happy.

I'm confident Gomes is on a 4+2 deal, so we'll enact our option before selling him (like we did with Stephen Kelly for example).

I'd love hoilett playing for us. The last 2 years he has been very impressive in a poor Blackburn side.

He's decent, but perhaps there's a Pienaar style gulf in class? I'd prefer we went for a right-sider too (as we already have Townsend for the left), and maybe someone younger and cheaper (Nathan Redmond for example)

He looked impressive last night

Nathan Redmond was fantastic last night. Admittedly that is the first time i've seen him play but on that performance Chris Hughton isn't going to be able to keep him much longer. I thought Brum had smuggled Ronaldo on to the pitch. At only 17 he's a great prospect and I expect to see him in a Premiership 1st team next season.

Rumours of Sandro moving on worry me, especially with the emergence of Scott Parker. I still feel we are under utilising Sandro, particularly in away games. Would have been ideal to play him AND parker in some games (Stoke away case in point). Parker may only have another really good season left in him after this one anyway. Hoping we will use Sandro more this season and that rumours of him leaving dissipate.

On a separate note i would worry if old red nose's need for a midfielder means he starts sniffing around Luka in the summer if not now. So important for us to hit that top 4 again this time.

I understand the worry about Sandro...and even those of us who were positive about the proposed move for Scott Parker recognised this as a possible problem.

I can't see levy letting him go, however...not unless we have a replacement lined up or at the club, and can make a massive profit - in which case we would be on w win/win.

As for Modric, I honestly believe Dan Levy would prefer to maim his nether-regions than seel to United.

Got a feeling that this Jan window is going to be quieter than a trappist monks convention.

Gomes will leave, I'm sure of it - he's not featuring anywhere right now.
Same for Gio - his last game must surely have been that poor showing last night.
Pav may well go if we can get in a replacement.
Same for Bassong, who in the summer, had signed paperwork for QPR which got annulled when we ran out of time with Cahill - allegedly.

Other than those, possibly some loans for the kids now their services are no longer required in Europe.
