On a side note, the prices bubble in the PL is going to burst sooner rather than later. Viewing figures have gone down last year, and I'm not convinced that its just a blip. In a few years time there could well be a few clubs with crazy wages find themselves in a spot of bother.

Pretty sure we'll sign more than that. But Barkley, King, Pereira, no-one that really sets my pulse racing.

TBF, in what position do we really need a player that gets the pulse racing? Maybe a speedy, wing player (We wanted Mane last season and got Sissoko). But, who would you drop in a fully fit lineup? Eriksen, Dele, Son, Lamela? And that's not including developing players like N'Koudou, Edwards and Onomah.

Not really, I know our wage limitations. But we attracted talents like Eriksen, Lloris, Toby before, there are players out there...
That's true, but realistically this window we were only ever gonna be looking at squad players imo, so if we do sign the players you suggested or similar, that would pretty much meet my expectations.

Not unless we get with the new average prices. In modern day equivalences Lloris and Toby would be like 30m, and Eriksen like 15/20m. Like, they would still be good value in todays market but they were special occasions. Meanwhile, when we originally signed these players there were not many teams paying 60k a week. These days it seems even relegation candidates pay that amount.

There is still value to be found in the market though. Perrira may turn out to be a very good piece of business if ITK is to be believed, while Mayer looks to be good value to me.

lets be fair, anything less than pereira at this point and we look weaker. we need to start some positive momentum before our inevitable 'prospect' signings.

After finishing second, you'd hope the club's expectations were similarly lofty.
It's the hope that kills you mate...tbh if we can get through the rest of this window without losing any (more) important players I'll be quite content...maybe I'm just too easily pleased.

Agree in part with this. However the overseas tv figures are booming and the next overseas deal will more than likely be bigger than the domestic tv deal. It's why Son is such a huge asset beyond the pitch.

Back to the itk and Barkley, bed rb and some young talent would still see us improved on last season providing no more major exits. And while some are worried that Walker leaving to a title rival is worrying, it also clearly shows Poch is boss, and as long as the rest of the squad are on side I don't think we need to worry too much about anyone else leaving.

Barkley and Pereira will be good transfers but if that's all, I will be more excited to see more of Onomah, Edwards, KWP or CCV.

Didnt I read somewhre that the stadium wouldn't affect our transfer budget ?

What were our board members and coaching staff supported to say when asked by the media?
Yeah the new stadium will crippled us financially for decades
