So Keane, Woodgate and O'Hara should now have clearer c.£140k off the wage bill and brought in £9m.

Not sure where you got that £9m figure from. More like £6.5m (O'Hara £3.5m, Keane £3m, Woody £Free).

Still good business getting their wages off the payroll.

Getting a bit annoyed at Levy and co. still trying to push Gio to Udinese when he clearly wants to go to Sevilla. Gio is clearly refusing to put his signature on the deal so, although I normally admire Levy's stance, he has to know that he's beaten here. Sevilla haven't offered more than a couple of million less, really should take the hit on this one.

Won't say goodbye Keano until he's gone, but at least it seems like there's some progress.

I'm pretty sure O'Hara was £5 million

how annoyed are we going to be if Woodgate plays 30 games this season for Stoke???

As he's managed 30 games three times in 13 years, I wouldn't go betting the farm on it.

Peanut saying keane is gone for 2.2m.

$3.5m, then.

Has anyone mentioned Udi before today?

I'll be happy for Woodgate more than anything else, as he deserves to have a career. We just couldn't afford to be letting wondering if he was going to be fit constantly especially when we have 4 quality CB in King, Dawson, Gallas and Kaboul, and a great prospect in Caulker. (I would have mentioned Bassong but he will probably be leaving)

Would be good to see some outgoings this week setting us up for the final week push for signings.

As Dan Ashcroft says, with a few off the books we should have a bigger kitty for wages together with a few more pounds for spending on transfer fees. Let's hope that can go towards signing those strikers we desperately need.

Thanks. Seems like a decent deal to me considering we are sending halfway around the World where he can't bite us in the arse if he rediscovers form and also reinforces Levy's good relationship with their owner.

Smiles all round then really

P.s. Keane is still a great player in our history!

If you were selling your car and wanted 6k for it and someone offered it why the hell would you then happily accept an offer from someone who was only willing to pay 4k???

A footballer is not a car, which as you know, is an inanimate object. A footballer is a human being, and as such their preferences need to come into the equation.

Reckon that good relationship is going to take a serious hit as as soon as the Galaxy owner realises what we've sold him.

Not when their preferred move only gets us 2/3 of the transfer fee of the highest bidder

A international quality striker who has scored a record amount of goals for his country and who showed when on loan to Celtic he can put them away for fun in a less competitive league??

I think the owner will be thrilled tbh....

Question is, if Keane has gone, does that mean we're bringing in a replacement immediately or still sitting around waiting for Gio or A.N.Other to leave too?

Keane moving obviously helps with the wages, but I'm not sure that it means that we'll sign a striker anytime soon as he wasn't really part of our first team squad. And he's already been replaced with VDV.

There was an interesting thought on here last night though that may-be some deals were held up due to Robbie having an equal pay clause in his contract. Does anyone know if that clasue exists, or is it just another Spurs myth?
