If Peace thinks SB is still worth 20 odd million after sitting on the bench for half a season, he's nuts.

£12 mil for him is about right.

Peace's grandstanding over the summer has come back to bite him. He let his ego get in the way and has cost his club 10 million pounds. Simple as that. The man's a cretin.

We were happy to pay the 20 mil for what was at the time an in form striker. Now, if we are offering 12, that's about right for a bad attitude bench warmer, with a decent if not remarkable record when he plays.
I think some desperate clubs will pay more. Berahino can't wait around for Spurs forever.
Newcastle seems a good fit all round

And if Newcastle or somebody bids more and we fail to get our managers number 1 target, will it still be about right? The player hasn't changed in 4 months. By that token Townsend should be worth about 2 bob seeing as he has barely kicked a ball for us this season.

But no, I'm sure we'll continue to exercise huge double standards when it comes to selling players.

Sometimes you have to pay above market value when you're badly in need of something. There is a time to be clever and there is a time to pay up.

Every day there seems to be a different club linked with him, Newcastle were said to be bidding 18m, Chelsea were apparently sniffing around, then Stoke. It will probably all come down to a bidding war once Peace runs up the white flag and accepts a bid. No doubt Chelsea would offer the most in wages and if the rumours are true that he's a disruptive so and so, Chelsea would be perfect for him.

Great news that. Dont want Berahino. He's a huge risk. So why pay alot for him?

Also, this sire sounds like the Townsend money. Which makes sense. We have a massive stadium project to fund. Any extra cash we have goes into the stadium.
So we are looking for a 12
Mill striker. Which gives you about top championship lever striker or a bargain from abroad. Almost certain it will be Dembele for a couple of mill. Fulham fan i work with says he's extremely lazy. Will have to change that!

If that latest snippet is true we are even more stupid than I thought.

Why?
He will want a 3/4 year contract, probably on money equal to Kane, if not more.
He is then going to spend most of his time on the bench, to be used as an impact sub, or to come in when Kane has a midweek rest.
Imagine the fun and games in a few months time, when he's had enough of being a sub and starts to whinge and whine.

Personally I'd rather we went for someone who will know and accept the likely role of bit-part/backup player.

And who thought we wouldn't keep to our net spend! Money for Townsend goes on Berahino. Not before Townsend goes either
We have to keep to it. We have a massive stadium build to fund. Anyone who believed
we had cash has no clue about business, to be frank with you. Any extra cash you have gets put into the stadium fund.

Depends on how bad the attitude is. If he's scoring when he needs to and not upsetting anyone else, I'd be happy enough.

I'm with you on that and think his attitude is mainly due to his current predicament and he'll be better when he gets here.

No. According to last piece of ITK we are only prepared to pay £12m for Berahino. Doesn't mean we wouldn't spend more on a different striker.

I'm not moaning about it. People seem to ignore it and have used sentances such as levy has learnt and changes his ways now.....

Well it looks like we need to sell Townsend to raise the money.
I will happily have a bet with you we won't bring anyone in for more than Townsend goes for?

If that's what we think of him, then why try to buy him at all? As the ITK implies, what we would be doing is saying we'll take a punt on getting him on the cheap, but nothing more. That's not backing your manager.

It's great itk for me. Love it.

What I'm hoping is we use all this as smoke and get a good young prospect in with the right attitude fit for us who will come and work his bollocks off when called upon and be happy to understudy kane.

If Njie was fit I'd say leave it as is, but we do need cover now so harry can rest properly.

Exactly. IMO, they are piggy backing off what one person says. I respect the info, but it just doesnt stand up to reason. Why deviate from your transfer policy when you have a massive liability to fund? It just doesnt make any sense.

Just bring in Dembele now and be done with it.

Most businesses have short, medium and long term budgets. All with different ways to fund it. Long term planning is very important, but you can't just ignore the short and medium term.

Btw, levy should know that finishing top 4 will increase revenue by 50m..... So it is odd to not sign a competent striker to help out. As for 12m valuation of SB, I think e should just move on... Don't waste our time.

Is he sulking because he wants to play for us or because he's a prick. One is easily resolved, the latter is not. None of his current behaviour surprises me. Ever since he broke into the first team, he has not been an easy character to deal with. Even before our game with WBA last season, Pulis remarked that Berahino is not at Kane's level because his attitude is not like Harrys.

He's talented but he could easily end up like Damiao in the sense that we think, 'why did we waste so much time on him?'.

Nothing we don't already know or suspect so don't read on if it bores you. Max we're prepared to bid at the mo for SB is £12m. I guess it'll be the Townsend money? Don't want to pay big money for a player who might be sat on the bench for long spells. There are also worries SB could kick off if he's getting splinters. Seems odd to me that they'd pay anything at all to bring in someone they think might cause disruption? So it's like, we don't mind someone causing disruption, if we got him for a bargain price. Seems very strange and also very Levy. Yes they're looking at the Fulham lad, but the French fella not mentioned so no idea.

Guessing if he does kick off we could get our £12m back for him from someone else.
