So going on recent ITK, Ade and Soldado could be out. Batshitcrazy could be coming in.

Kane & Batshitcrazy will be our main strikers unless we bring someone else in.

The plot thickens.

As much as I like Sir Les, i'm not going to lose any sleep over his departure from the coaching staff. His work with our forwards has been ... well ...
What you talking about, he turned Soldado into a complete midfiel.....oh

If we want a physical beast to play in some games, then Batshuayi is a reasonably priced alternative to Lukaku and Benteke, he also is a better all round footballer from what I have seen. Yes there are better players out there, but I imagine the plan is to let Ade go and replace him, whilst giving Soldado time to rediscover his form.

I hope that's not the plan, because its a poor one imo. Letting Ade go and replacing him with an inferior player, whilst hoping that Soldado somehow develops the attributes needed to succeed leading the line in the PL is not going to improve us. Quite the opposite.

Storts' ITK doesn't really come as a surprise. One assumes that Baldyknees is safe for the moment, even though he's managed to make Comolli look a byword for acuity when it comes to transfer dealings.

How?

Last summer Baldini oversaw deals for:

Soldado - a proven goal scorer who had only been outscored by Messi and Ronaldo in the last 3 years.

Lamela - one of the most sought after young players in World football, and the guy touted to take over St.Totti's position at Roma.

Eriksen - another highly sought after young player.

Chirches - an international CB being considered by a number of clubs.

Paulinho - an international midfielder who was one of the stars of the confederations cup, being voted the third best player of the tournament.

Capoue - a French international DM to provide cover for Sandro.

Chadli - a Belgium international who was keeping Dembele out of the international side and churning out good performances in the erdevise for years.

Regardless of their relative successes, let's not rewrite history and act like he did a terrible job.

I disagree, Soldado showed that he can play upfront in the league last season. The only thing he was lacking was a good goal return but that will come with experience in the league and some actual service that we hope the next man in will actually work on providing him with.

We'll have to agree to disagree. Ignoring the poor goal return, almost all of Soldado's better performances came when he was playing alongside Ade.

Say what you like about Ade's attitude but without him this season we would have been mixing with Southampton for 8th place. If we can't afford his wages and he has to leave we need a quality, ready made striker in to replace him imo.

Soldado, Batshuayi and Kane for next year? Not sure I see us paying Adebayor's full wages and we should be able to cash out on him after the second half of the season he had.
