One would assume since we have bid for Bat-Shet-Crazeh that we know who our manager is.

Not necessarily. According to ryan we've been very interested in him since at least March - suggests he's a Baldini or Broomfield signing. If we think he'd fit the systems of the two or three managers on our list then Levy will see no point in waiting. It's not like our managers get to choose the players we buy anyway.

Soldado, Batshuayi and Kane for next year? Not sure I see us paying Adebayor's full wages and we should be able to cash out on him after the second half of the season he had.

People keep mentioning Ade and his wage but as far as I'm aware City were paying him the difference between his wage with them and what we are paying him for the amount of time he had left on his contact with them and then after that time he would just be on the wage that we have been paying him. Nowhere have I seen anything to say that we will suddenly start paying him more money.

That strike force simply isn't good enough for where we want to be.
Eh, that depends on a lot of things, most notably what style of play we are planning to use going forward. Remember that Soldado was one of the better strikers in the world before we fucked him up last year, if the new manager rates him then I think its decent. I'd say those three are a good sight better than Giroud, Bendtner and Sanogo, but that strike force finished exactly where we want to be.

Yeah, I have my hesitations. I do think that Soldado will have a much better year next year, but I'm not really ready to rely on Kane, although he can become a solid player. As for this guy, will he be like Lukaku or Van Wolfswinkel? And are we willing to take that risk?

Yay another foreigner from a shit league and unproven
We'd have said that about Benteke or Lukaku for example. This is exactly the kind of signing we don't make enough of in my onion. We can't sign them when they are superstars so we have to make them ourselves.

I think the point is that when Ade no longer get's his oil sheikh top up, he'll look elsewhere for a club who pay big wages.

Not to mention we just sacked the only guy at the club he still seemed to like. I wouldn't put money on him firing on all cylinders in the near future.

I could be mistaken, but I'm pretty sure they are going to stop paying whatever they were and it's all on us now.

I totally agree we need to make more of these signings, but imo it should be as an addition to our strike force, not the main man. I guess my big problem is that it looks like Ade is leaving and everyone seems to be pinning their hopes on Soldado being the main man next season, transformed when our new manager comes in. I don't see it panning out that way.

Solid bid going in for Michy Batshuayi

Hmmm

With Kanes development this can only mean we expect Ade to leave the club as I don't see us carrying more than 3 specialist strikers. It also probably means that Lukaku is no longer a target.

I think Ade's wages is a big red herring. I thought we or they paid a lumpsum when he signed to offset his wage reduction, yet everyone still thinks he is subsidised?

Regardless, his contract is now in the 'sell now or get nothing later' position and he is quite old. Levy will have looked at his player spreadsheet and Ade will have been top of the 'get rid' list. That doesn't even consider the various behind the scenes issues.
