Wonder if we needed to get Adebayor in first in case shitty got a bit concerned about letting us have him if we announced others first

I think we have deals that are nearly done but waiting on outgoings before pushing through

Maybe Diarra is done, and we are waiting to sell Wilson before it is tied up and announced so Stoke don't try reduce the fee - especially if they are already worried about his knee.

It may well have been calculated, it may well not have been. I have absolutely no idea. I do think it was an odd thing to come out and say either way. What does it achieve? What could it possibly do to help us?

What if he'd said, 'Dad thought he was awesome. Levy's heading there tomorrow with his cheque-book.'? What he actually said was totally meaningless (or rather, open to several interpretations). It doesn't do anything to help us, but nor does it do anything to hinder us.

Why do people worry about these things?

Redknapp senior was just talking to his son on the phone, he can say what he likes. Jamie should have kept his mouth shut, however. What his dad thinks of a player who Spurs are monitoring doesn't need to be in the public domain. A simple 'He didn't go into much detail' would've sufficed.

I imagine Harry gives Jamie that info in the full knowledge that he's going to mention it on TV. Harry will tell Jamie plenty of stuff with a firm 'keep schtum about this' warning attached and this seemingly wasn't one of those times!

So Adebayor and Ruiz + Journo's (Hunts, Farfan, Diarra, Tasci and Afellay)

Man, we need to sell some players

I doubt we'll sign 7 players in 2 weeks lol.

IN: Ade, Ruiz/Afellay/other wide forward, Diarra, Tasci/Cahill/Samba
OUT: Hutton, GDS, Palacios, Crouch, Bentley

These seem to be the likely transfer dealings. I don't know how many squad members this'd leave us with though

I am quite sure City are happy for us to have Ade for Monday, put one over on Utd.

I was being rather sarcastic, mate

Still can't imagine Huntelaar or Farfan.

Adebayor + Ruiz for me

I wish I was more excited.

I'd love to see us sign Adebayor, however I'd hope that if it is a loan, it will be with an option to buy. Plus...Diarra was supposedly all but done. It sounds very promising, but people acting like he's already joined need to try to avoid jumping the gun.

Fair enough, I'll concede defeat on this one. I'm tired and I don't' really have a strong case!

Well if Harry is now watching players we're doomed!

This was/should have been done a long time ago

May-be it's just a last watch before we bid. As Az. said earlier it's hard to watch players in the off-season.

Fox Soccer just caught a glimpse of Harry on my stream, he's well shit at hiding!

No false porn star mustache again tonight?

:hump:

Jamie Redknapp just confirmed on Sky his dad was watching Ruiz. "spoke to my dad 10 mins ago and he said he did alright, nothing more, nothing less". Went on to say he doesnt see that one happening.

As others have said he's never going to say he was amazing as it makes us look too keen and could push the price up.

I can also remember an interview with Frank Arnesson a few years ago in which he said that you always need to watch a player until he has a bad game so you can see how effective he is on a bad day.

I don't think people should get too carried away about Adebayor....simply because it's likely he'll be a loan and 12 months from now he'll either have to take a major pay cut or we'll be on the look out for a new striker yet again.

Sorry to put a downer on it.

You mean we'll be doing this again this time next year? Fantastic :). It's more addictive than crack.

He used to post a lot, now he just basically appears when he has info to post.

It's almost like he's a Phantom :shifty:

Yep. The kind of people celebrating the signing of Adebayor now will be the ones most disappointed if it doesn't come off.

Most loans have a option to buy at the end so I'm sure this will be no different if it happens, which I'm thinking it will now.

Assuming Adebayor is in the bag we still need another striker. The problem is having just the one upfront means it will be difficult to recruit 2 top class forwards. So maybe the best options for us now would be to go for Ruiz or Leandro after we offload Crouch to the highest bidder. I think it would be unrealistic to expect a higher calibre back up then either Ruiz or Leandro

If Ruiz wants to come and we want him then he will come. For this I think Crouch has to go. Fulham? Stoke? Who knows

Adebayor!!
