Great news from the Goat. The Holt end at Villa is huge. I'd love to see if Townsend manages to hit row Z for them as well.

Andros could do well at Villa with a manager who tells him just go and run around and attack. Could be a decent move for him. And though I don't rate him particularly, his personality seems like it would be a bit of a miss from our dressing room. Would quite like to have someone lined up if Lennon/Townsend are being shown the door.

After what felt like forever talking about cabbages, that ITK feels like a breath of fresh air.

I think (if we get in someone with some pace) we should loan Townsend for a season, give him a good run of games and then decide about selling or keeping him. I just feel that mayyyyybe there's something useful somewhere in there.

Villa sell Benteke to Utd/pool and give us a chunk for Townsend and Ade (they could pay him a big signing on fee). Would be delighted with that. Could pick up a couple of attacking prospects then...

Yes and no. Many players who could have been desired have slipped or have always been unavailable. I don't see that there are 2 CM who a) we want, b) are
available at a decent price and c) who would be an upgrade. Get 1 in, and do that 1 really well.

You not seen the plans for the Olympic Stadium, Row Z is inthe middle of the Westfield shopping centre.

For a while I've felt benteke was still a possibility. There was talk from Greyfox (update 108) that there would be a stellar signing once the big fish go. Benteke would do the business, plus fit with the ITK about an extra Belgian, and with Villa's rumoured Townsend/Ade intetest, maybe a deal could've been done. However, Jaspers info this morning rules out a big buy.

Too expensive. We were told at the AGM that we're not going to be spending the sort of money we did 2 years ago on players.

We still have one of the biggest squads in the leagues (currently 31), and Poch is known to favour a small/tight squad.

We need to lose about 6 players net, so that's 7-8 out to bring 1-2 in.

If it's going to be another zero spend summer (as expected) then at least we look to be getting good prices for and have a lot of players we could sell on. If we got rid of 6/7 players and brought in batshuyi and Rabiot from now on in then you'd have to say we'd had a good solid window.

That sounds about right to me.

But there's not all that much value left in the players we need to shift though - Chiriches (£6m), Stambouli (£5m), Lennon (£8m), Kaboul (£1m), Ade (£0m), Soldado (£8m) doesn't even give us £30m to play with.

Yeah, I can't see two extra CM coming in.
Best case, from the general gist of most of the ITK we've seen, it will be 1 CM and 1 CF, plus maybe a 2nd attacking option to cover two roles, WF/CF, if there is room.
We would still expect to move Kaboul, Chiriches, Stambouli, Lennon, Soldado and Ade, plus potentially open to offers on Townsend it would appear after this morning. That's 6/7 out, 2/3 in. Overall squad reduction to tie in with the theory Poch likes a smaller squad, plus also reduce the previously large headcount and slash the wage bill. Add to that we have also gained Ali from his January transfer, plus had Pritchard and Carroll return from loans, on top of our summer signings, and also have the likes of Velkjovic, Winks and Onomah looming up on the fringes.
