Adebayor and Remy

If that's the case, I'd still feel we were a striker light. Doesn't sound like Remy can lead the line like Adebayor so we'd still need someone else who can do that (and I don't think Saha or Defoe meet that requirement).

How the feck can we afford Messi, I'm sorry that's just bull. The Goat trying to make himself look big. What a load of bollox.............. Oh it's cryptic, mmm, I wonder what it means? ;)

It's Cisse - It's an anagram.

Replace the M (1000 in Roman Numerals) with a C (100 in Roman Numerals) add a zero for each remaining letter in the name (4) and all the other letters are the same in both their names.

M = 10,000,000 Fee and C = 1,000,000 his signing on fee.

This cryptic stuff is easy!!

Saha will still be here in my opinion. Defoe wont

So that would be Saha Remy Adebayor and VDV

Not too shabby

I think he was leading the line a few times this season, or certainly playing a central role. Not sure how well he did it though?

Adebayor and Remy
If they are the only two we're after I feel a little underwhelmed

Adebayor has been good for us, but I still think he doesn't suit our style of play (constantly dropping off and linking up play instead of getting in the box), and especially doesn't compliment VDV that well

And Remy is unproven in the PL, has a dodgy hamstring injury, and we're all unsure on his rightful position

I do hope we have other targets

I don't get why we want Remy - he's not the lethal striker we crave by any stretch of the imagination. Cost - excess of £20m? Sounds like the next Bentley/Bent - a waste of money.

Hasn't the Montpellier striker Giroud got a reported buy out clause of approx £10m? Plus we've been linked with Adam Johnson ... we could potentially end up with a quality striker and a back up winger for less than Remy.

I read Giroud's buy out clause is around £16m, similar to Huntelaar's

he certainly played well this season, but that's just one season. he mostly featured in lower divisions before that. it would be a bit like splashing 16m on marlon king... too risky.

You can request it, but we can't make any promises. If POTL comes out with a cryptic all we can do is report it. What I can tell you however is that The Goat undertakes not to post anything so cryptic that it could mean anything. For example, we'd keep any cryptic on a basic level so that most of SC could understand it. if The Goat wanted to say we're signing Messi, he'd say something like "We're signing Messi' and let you figure it out, if you can ;)

Isnt Stephen Hawkins a Spurs fan?

Vertonghnen and Remy would go a long way to getting our transfer window sorted.

Add to that someone like Hoilett and Ade on a perm deal late on once he realises that no-one is willing/able to pay his wages at the rate he wants and i'd be very happy with that as our incoming business.

I'm actually just as interested on our outgoing business this window, by my accounts there are at least 14 players we should be shifting on this window in same way or other.

While Spurs may or may not have been in for the likes of Suarez and Hazard, when it comes down to salaries in this modern Premiership, we are still Second Division, and will remain so until the stadium is complete and we can expand the business model which is capped to not fall foul of the FFP in any way.

We need to get Saturday out of the way first and then fingers crossed stop messing about and get our business done early.

Too many windows we have been still messing around on the last day, which certainly cost us last season, with the poor start we had and then not improving the squad in Jan in order to really push forwards. Whilst i appreciate Harry likes Ade, i am not sure he is worth the wages. I agree we need two strikers, one centre back, a right sided player, an upcoming keeper. I also think Saha will stay as he can play up top on his own if needs be.

Leandro, Giroud etc need to be ruled out for me before we lump money on Ade, god only knows why we did not go for Falcao when he left Porto. Remy is a strange one, but he is decent in my opinion, but just not sure he fits with with the system we play.

Leandro, Giroud, Vertongthen, Hoillet and Krul would be happy days for me, but i doubt it???

I would be happy with Adebayor and Remy. Ade has fit perfectly into our system IMO. His assist and goals combined record is outstanding seeing it is his first season in a new team. The only concern I would have is that he might lose motivation if we sign him on a perm.

I like the look of Remy and I really think he would thrive at a teams like ours. It's good that we have scouts and a manager who actually look at a players talent and ability and are not just hung up on stats like most of you lot.

14? wow! Here are mine...

Gomes
Corluka
Rose
Gallas
King
Nelsen
Jenas
Bentley
Giovanni
Pienaar
Krancjar
Khumalo

Problem is, if we get rid of these, then we will need to bring in a similar amount as with a few injuries we found ourselves extremely stretched.
