I would be happy with Adebayor and Remy. Ade has fit perfectly into our system IMO. His assist and goals combined record is outstanding seeing it is his first season in a new team. The only concern I would have is that he might lose motivation if we sign him on a perm.

I like the look of Remy and I really think he would thrive at a teams like ours. It's good that we have scouts and a manager who actually look at a players talent and ability and are not just hung up on stats like most of you lot.

Kalou is a decent player and has the same attributes as Remy, he's available on a free ... and has premiership experience.

Is this a joke?

Doesn't seem like he has a Kalou about Remy's quality.

Don't get me wrong. I dont think Kalou is rubbish. He has his qualities, like pace and close, dribbling. But for me I think he is carried in a team a lot and we dont need that. Plus Kalou can't play a lone striker position. Remy can.

Even at £16m, he's worth a punt. Plus he's 3 years younger than Huntelaar.
The Montpellier chairman was on French radio in January. Said it'd take €50-60m. Likely to scare off the vultures, but there you have it

14? wow! Here are mine...

Gomes
Corluka
Rose
Gallas
King
Nelsen
Jenas
Bentley
Giovanni
Pienaar
Krancjar
Khumalo

Problem is, if we get rid of these, then we will need to bring in a similar amount as with a few injuries we found ourselves extremely stretched.

My list is:

Gomes, Cudicini, Corluka, King and/or Gallas, Nelsen, Bassong, Jenas, Bentley, GdS, Pienaar, Kranjcar, Khumalo, Saha and/or Defoe and maybe Rose.

I'm not really that worried about squad size, as we have: Caulker, Naughton, Townsend and Falque who can and should all be part of the larger squad for next season.

If some one posts itk in here are you allowed to critique it the same as other posts or is it considered abuse?

Have you watched much of Remy....?

I've seen a few Marseille games. I'm not disputing that he's a decent player but £20m for someone who isn't a 'striker' is ridiculous. Not forgetting that he's injury prone. I would much rather put the money towards Adebayor's wages.

I like the idea of Remy in place of Lennon out wide, but we all know we'd still struggle to score. And if Mordric is sold and a like-for-like creator isn't brought in at CM, then that's fewer opportunities to score from, making those we do create as a team all the more important.

I dig Adebayor at his current level of enthusiasm. I'd happily take him on a permanent move. I just feel like we'd need a more consistent goal scorer as a second option. Defoe may be gone. Saha is an injury risk. VDV is great, but has injury risks of his own, and may be rotating between AM and CM if Modric leaves. Idk, it feels.... thin.

Saha will still be here in my opinion. Defoe wont

So that would be Saha Remy Adebayor and VDV

Not too shabby

Not too Shabby, but 3 fo those 4 will be starting most games? Lennon on the bench?

Remy VDV Bale
Adebayor

Sounds about right to me. I think there's massive attacking potential in that line-up and those two players are very gettable. Add into that the fact that we have a great defensive midfield team already and just need a new CB to sure things up at the back then all of a sudden i think we can have an excellent looking team, with good depth, for not a lot of investment this summer.

What we need to decide is what sort of striker we want. For me Adebayor is crucial to the way we play because he drops off, links up play and runs the channels. We've all seen that without him we look static and incapable of holding onto the ball and that's no coincidence.

Fair enough if you just want a goalscorer, but for me if they only offer goals and no link-up play then that will be of detriment to the team as a whole.

Obviously ideally you want someone who can do both...hold the ball up, bring others in and get 20 goals a season as well. But I'm not sure how many of those there are out there.

and Kane
And Kane

Is he good enough? I know he was very young featuring for us early season, and has done well at Millwall, but I'm not convinced from what I have seen. Loan him again, perhaps. I'd much prefer to see someone like Stephen Fletcher, to give us a physical presence, or a Kevin Doyle, to give us a workman like striker. I'm thinking Spurs here, Llorente and Lavezzi would be the ideal two for those roles.

What's with all the 'replacement for Lennon' talk? Aarons always been good for us. Admittedly i know fuck all about Remy..apart from he's black.

We miss Lennon when he is out, but as good as he is.... in fact as good as any of our players are (Bale, Modric, VDV...etc.) we should always be looking to improve on them where possible, as if we improve our bench we will improve the squad as may do a little better, if we improve the starting 11 (which would also improve the bench as 1st teamers would drop to squad players) we improve a lot more!

It stems from looking for a source of goals in the 4231. He's the only one of the attackers that doesn't really have a nose for the goal. He'd be a great impact sub and cover if he'd be content with that role though. Somehow I doubt he would.

Exactly, and one has to look at how many goals are forward players have in total as a result of the way we've been playing. Between Adebayor, VDV, and Bale they have the guts of 35- 40 league goals.

Adebayor should really of broke the 20 goal mark this season, a bit unlucky with some decisions and a few chances he should of buried but in all honesty trying to find a guy who's going to do all what he's done (assists and being involved in a lot of our build up as the focal point) plus sticking 30 league goals away is a serious ask, and one I don't think we would be able to afford even if they were out there.

Adebayor is a must for me if we can do it.
