Ian Ayre recently said Liverpool have met all their objectives for the summer so I'm not sure if it's just paper talk linking him to Liverpool. I think if we could convince Illarramendi to join us though it would be a real coup. Good news to hear the interest is mutual

He's apparently about set to sign for Liverpool. Arsenal are interested though too. Think we're probably his 3rd choice here.

I'm going to be optimistic and say that if he was Liverpool bound he would just about already be there. Trix said the interest was mutual but he wants to assess his options. Surely if there was concrete evidence that Liverpool were interested in him he would already know about it and therefore wouldn't have that sort of mutual interest in us. Unless he's content to go to either or other clubs and is waiting to see which club offers him the best deal. I just think he would already be there if that was the case.
