Honestly, everybody needs to take three seconds away from knee-jerking and think about all of this horse-shit. If Levy and Harry were at odds such as are being presented, Harry would be out of a job. Levy wouldn't need to wait for an England offer that will never come or a jail sentence that is just as unlikely. He would just fire him and be done with it. Two years salary at most wouldn't be that big a deal. Obviously he has something for Harry because he's still here. It's like people forgot how many times Levy has fired people, and managers much more popular than Harry. So stop this argument and take all the noise with a bucket load of salt. There's something not quite kosher about it.

This. Both Levy and Harry are smart cookies that have been around the block a few times, this isn't the school playground! These are two grown up business men that both want success for THFC, you don't get close (4th) without wanting to do better. A lot of what H says is to calm supporters down and bemuse the competition i.e. lack of money when clearly we have loads. BTW good a Modric is (and I love him) I question the amount of assists and goals he gets.

Let's face it guys. Levy will cave, sell Mod for whatever price, he'll then spend all the money getting himself lavish haircuts and we'll be relegated.

You're a hard man to please aren't you? It took escaping relegation and getting into the Champions League for the first time in our history, beating the likes of Arsenal away etc etc for you to move 180 degrees, but then a few meaningless ramblings to the press which have resulted in nothing so far has made you swing straight back the other way

I will add the caveat if we sell Modric because of the scenario I presented..

But I have been extremely disapointed in Harry this transfer window at how he handles himself. He's not a team player.

the way i look at whole modric situation now and since news of him breaking was, that spurs will talk the talk and say all the right things but at the ened of the day levy and those in the board will demand and agree to sell him.

i dont care what people say about contracts and situations with regards berbatov, keane and carrick. the fact of matter is wthey wanted to leave and got their moves and not only that we sold them to rivals. thats the one MAJOR sticking point - selling to rivals. Under no circumstances should any top player of ours especially now as we have decent side that we should sell to a united , arsenal, liverpool or chelsea. or city now that they have money.the gap is not that big at all and its just the media sayin it is.

If these players like modric bale and vdv and sandro want to leave. fine no bother, tell them in no uncertain terms. u are free to go but your going abroad. end of. the bottom line is now that a club our size cant be seen selling our best to local rivals. it sends out all the wrong signals. anyone who says take the money for such and such is an idioit and this is on top of fact that modric is one of best players in uk if not europe makes it worse.

ferguson raves abouts him. i have no doubt he will put bid in at some stage if word gets out we are selling. absolutelyno doubt whatsoevr. Do u think fegie wud sell modric if he wanted to leave united to a chelsea, city , arsenal or united ? he wud in his bollix. over his dead body wud he do it and whats more hsi fans and united fans wud not let it either. its just a given.. SO why us? why are fans on here galdly and willingly sell modric to rivals up the road which will onlyu make them million times better when its kinda obvious they are on downward spiral imo??

but getting back to the whole will he wont he. Imo i never had any faith in levy or powers that be in spurs. yes he has brought us a point of success and yes he has invested money to a degree but when push comes to shove now can he and board kick us on again. i dont think so.

i can see us signing diarra, ade, maybe other striker, winger and CB but what will finance that will be modric been sold which wud be total joke. we will then get the auld BS from levy in a stament going position was untenable, bad influence, what can i do? we got so and so in place.. wait and see , hope im wrong and modric is here on spet 2nd cos there ir not one spurs player who can or wud lace his boots. he is light years ahead of anyone on team.

Archibald on SO just said:

"There is zero chance of Levy wanting to sell Luka. He wouldnt have made all the noises and statements to push that point home."

More opinion than fact, but he obviously knows a lot about the situation.

There was zero change of Levy wanting to sell Berbatov, in fairness. That sale was forced on him.

Why on Earth has this thread again become a massive Modric discussion.

Please can we take this to the Modric thread. I know it is easy to go off on a tangent but you are just going to get this thread locked. In the last 3 pages there have been abut 10 post relevant to this thread

Phil Neville - 34 1/2 years old
David Beckham - 36 years old
Scott Parker - surprisingly 30 (almost 31) years old
Brad Friedel - 40 years old

I am sure I forget a couple more but 3 of the mentioned players were wanted by Harry in the January window and it is well documented. The same Harry that wasn't sure Suarez will make it in the PL.

Sorry, but I'd rather have Levy taking care of the transfers than Harry. Leave it to Harry and we'll have a squad that will make Chelsea's look like a kinder garden. I don't think for a minute that Levy isn't getting advice on transfers. He probably has a couple of people advising him on targets.

The way I see it could work best is Harry having a final word on a transfer after Levy has given him several options.
Harry: "I need a CB and I want Rio".
Levy: "Forget about Rio. Chose one from Samba, Cahill, Tasci and we will sign him"

1) This has been done to death previously;
2) A poster compiled a table which destroyed, forever, the myth that Redknapp had brought only old players, or even a disproportionate amount of old players, to the club.

Don't like this latest ITK about Hugo Sanchez, A&C Eek Look like them mentalist conspiratorialists were right after all...Levy is trying to asset strip the club before selling :eek:mg:

completely different scenario - Berba had 2 or 3 years left. He had literally put himself on strike which Luka has not done yet. Having 5 years left on a contract does mean something in terms of the strength of our position.

I think it's Good Cop Bad Cop syndrome, once the window shuts Good Cop puts arm round the little 'un, tells all and sundry he's a top top lad and Spurs win the League for the first time since old Leatherarse died.
