LMAO, sorry Hot-Spur. In my defence I never looked at your avatar, and the mistake was a perfectly innocent one .. hoodlum, thanks for bringing that to my attention (y)
No problem. Just an educational post, that's all.

Nope, I'm not going to edit my post to save myself from personal shame. I made the mistake & am happy to take whatever lashing Miss Hot-Spur dishes out to me. And that statement has absolutely nothing to do with my sado masochistic personality disorder!!

Sounds like more of the same from Levy - talks the talk, but won't walk the walk. How much did he think Lloris was going to be? How cheap would Moutinho really be coming off the back of an excellent Euros? The arabs must have gone cold on investing, maybe why thats the 'world class signing' broke down?

Reading the ITK, which is always posted in good faith, then the spurious spoutings of media hacks (most of them, not all), it is easy to come to this conclusion, however I look at it slightly differently. As fans, all we see is what is on view through the shop window, we don't see what is going on in the back room, and therefore don't really know the inner workings, complications or phase of negotiations the executive team is at, and therefore can only speculate on what is presented to us, which is frustrating to say the least! I'm sure that the club "leaks" information, some of which is correct, but also a lot of which is disinformation deliberately aimed at out media "friends". Diamondlites, I'm not picking on you, or disagreeing with you, I just see it slightly differently and believe that DL and the executive management know what they are doing, and based on activity so far in this window, are doing everything they can to bring in the talent and investment we need in order to compete at the top, it's a tough business! At the end of the window your post may well prove correct, based on what we see and know. The transfer window is a game of thrones, a pack of alpha dogs baring their teeth and fighting for every centimeter! COYS!

Did the ITK dry up because of the locked Twitter-thread or is this just an unusally silent day all round? Shockingly, I haven't been able to check SC all day, almost a bit disappointed when i checked the RO to find no news. :)

I'm surprised and a bit let down with the news about Adebayor and his wages, I hope he doesn't fuck off to China or something. And I mean that!

People have been saying Ade's been "done" for weeks now. I do expect us to sign him, but I also think a few people have just been saying he's "done" without actually being sure because its so likely. Also means they can claim they called it. For that exact reason, I'm telling you Ade is done.

Yes information from completely unrelated third parties definitely dries up because I locked a thread.

The amount of pages of a thread doesn't necessarily equate to their being a certain amount of info. More often than not, the more pages there are, the less information has actually been given. Most of today (still a surprising 15 pages) has been people being restless, not really adding much and posting for the sake of posting.

Considering we've already signed two players this window, you only have yourselves to blame for getting all excited about new players frequently coming through the door. That was never going to be the case - this isn't the massive re-build job that Arnesen, Jol and Santini supervised. This is the cherry to the icing on the cake.

So please, whatever you do, enjoy the ride but don't take anything too seriously. Just be massively sceptical, it really really works.

Not ITK but In my own personal opionion I don't think we could do worse that taking Carroll on loan for a year

Didn't AVB explicitly say last week that we're not interested in him (not being allowed to quote posts for some reason)

Lack of ITK?

JJ is understandably gonna be a little reticent after yesterday, POTL went away, Akqayid is swanning around in America, even 'unofficial' Spurvert said he's off for few days.
That's probably 70-80% of our ITK input inactive right there, plus the club announced loads last week.
No wonder it's quiet

No idea, but there certainly hasn't been any ITK on him.

Plus a manager leaving, a new manager arriving, a former legend returning to the coaching set up, in fact a new coaching set up altogether... and a star player leaving :(

But apart from that NOTHING.

AVB laughed and replied 'No, no, no...' when asked if he was interested in Carroll IIRC

I'd love Carroll at Spurs as a back up/rotation striker. The way he hassled and fought for every ball against Sweden was impressive - quality header too. I can't remember the last time we had a striker with a high work rate.

I'm surprised Liverfool are letting him go.

If Carroll doesn't fit into the way Rodgers wants the bin dippers to play, then i can't really see him fitting into the way we play either.

Don't see Liverpool loaning Carroll to someone they consider a rival

If they were going to let Carroll come to us it would only be on a perm and probably not less than 20m

If we can't get Ade or similar quality or better for whatever reason we could do worse than him but I would only consider him as a last resort

For someone who has a fondness of alcohol I think Carroll and the bright lights of London would be a recipe for disaster

I think a lot of these players seem to get into trouble in the smaller cities...Leeds, Liverpool etc. London's more cosmopolitan, and a learning curve of life and experience in itself. A lot of our party boys from up North like Lennon, Thudd, Jenas settled down here really well.

I don't think they're as exposed in London/Essex as they are in smaller Northern cities that are no where near as used to "celebrity". Carroll would be a fawned after superstar in Newcastle, but a relative unknown compared with the A-list in London. This seems to keep them more grounded.
