No. I'm saying unless your family member is Gary Cook it's pretty irrelevant.
No he is not,but he works there on a everyday basis and work close to all the players.
And i'll say it again, why Cook does that mean i should not listen to our ITK because they have not got a family member close to our top man.

Makes no sense.

Didn't Adebayor say he had a deal in place to join us on loan in Jan, only that Real came in at the 11th hour he understandably joined them instead? If that's the case the that would tell me that City would be prepared to let him join us so its possible. Would love to get him in.

40% so €6.8m

I believe it's 40% of the profit, not of the whole fee. Luckily, 17m would still be just over 16m profit as we sold him for peanuts, so still 6.4m coming our way.... if the 17m figure being touted is accurate.

This whole Adebayor on loan story continues to baffle me.

I still can't see any possible reason why City would go for that sort of deal. The only reason a club would normally offload a player of his standard on loan is to get rid of the wages but I can't see City being worried about that sort of money if it meant improving one of their rivals.

If they did though we could end up with Vucinic and Adebayor for a combined outlay of about 17m (not including wages etc). That wouldn't be too shabby!

Re Adebayor, I just keep thinking about Pandev. He wasn't being played (because he refused to sign a new contract) but he wasn't being sold or loaned out either. If City keep Adebayor, but don't play him at all, or even don't include him in the 25 (distinct possibility) he could potentially do a Pandev, sue his way out of the club and leave on a very low, tribunal decided fee to whichever club he chooses and City would be powerless to stop him.

I may well be comparing situations which shouldn't be compared, but I think that if there's anything City were scared of that might be forcing their hand to consider offers for him, it would be this.

Look mate, it's not difficult. But unless your family member is Gary Cook. It's still pretty irrelevant.

I think we are overlooking one important factor, and that is arrogance. Man City now see Man Utd and Chelsea as their main rivals, not us, Arsenal and Liverpool. Whether that is justified or not, it may mean that we can pick up Adebayor if Madrid don't want him.

Have a look over the last ITK thread from yesterday.

I asked CorlukaModric if we were signing one or two strikers and he responded with one.

If its true its very disappointing because if we only sign one and he gets injured we are no better off than last season.

Then we use Ce..os & Cou..y the 2 new kids

Eto'o?? :hump:

I wish. I really really do but then I wanted to win the Euromillions and it never happened either :-(

...and Mattyspurs Birthday :snooty:

Happy Late Birthday

Thanks, but unless your family member is Gary Cook. It's pretty irrelevant.

That's not really accurate or fair or funny. Its daft. All ITK is relevant even if its from Mavis the tea lady.

This is such a nonsensical comment. Only Gary Cook has any idea what Manchester City's policy is on selling players to their rivals including us? Does he write down all his secret thoughts and then lock them in a safe that noone else at Man City has the combination for?

I'll take the word of Adebayor over someone I've never met anyway, in this particular case we have the words from the player himself - so not much of a contest.

If City were prepared to loan him back in January when a top four finish was far from guranteed I cant see them hardening their stance now that they've actually done it.

Please explain. You are making it sound like you don't believe any info unless it's coming from any clubs top man,why you on a ITK forum?

I myself know for certain in noway will City help us out.
Not saying Ade will not join, because City are now willing to deal with us,but what i'm saying is that they will not do us any favours and will make it difficult.

No, it's info from another club, not ours. It's coming with a side order of spin on it which is understandable. One of my best mates works at Arsenal, pretty high up or whatever you want to label it. He tells me shit all the time, do I believe a word of it? No? Would you?

To say you are certain is definitely ballsy, I just hope for your sake they don't, otherwise it'll look a bit silly.

This is not a particularly bright post, as info from anywhere in and around the boardroom level will give a good insight into how City are thinking, ergo making it not irrelevant. Yes, they may well end up doing business with us, but it does't mean they cannot be reluctant to. Also like any other ITK info, i'm sure the guy is passing it on in good faith, so why try and piss on his parade?

It's Gary Cook, he's a special case.

The itk re: Strikers.
The problem with our strikers was that they didn't score enough goals. So the honest question is do we need a replacement(s).

I actually I think the question should be are our current strikers intelligent enough for close combat games... Lower teams pack the defence (this seems to be where the PL is heading
Munchkin can score. Pav can score and Circus man does exactly hats expected of him. So Yes sell RK who I think is an intelligent player, but lacks the needed pace and replace.

Only one striker is needed - Rossi - a Robbie replacement and we are all fucking set to go!

We need a striker who will score us goals. It's that simple. That's is 99.9% of the criteria we need in a striker. As I have said before, our ideal striker is Ruud van Nistlepants mkII.
