It sells newpapers and get hits on their websites.

because,

1. Tottenham always have and always will be news.
2. We have some brilliant players and they are very much in demand.

Time to start making good news!

Any updates on Leandro?

Last I read was something by rebrad (I think) saying it was still prgressing towards a positive outcome, obviously not that quickly as it has been ticking along for quite a while now.

Hopefully this week will bring us something better.

No it won't. City will have heard Levy's statement too. No key players will be sold.

Hardly rocket science.

Wait and see, i wish it wasn't the case but once actual bids of £50 to £60 million cash up front start coming in and players put in transfer requests then watch what happens.

Naive to think otherwise.

As awesome as Bale and Modric are ... if a suitable exchange package was offered then I think we'd be mad not to take it.

Bale was great for the 1st 4 months of the season then distinctly average/injured most of the 2nd half of the season .... wouldn't it be wise to accept a huge bid for him now instead of risking his value going down due to any potential loss of form during the new season?

Reason I say this ... look at Defoe when he was banging them in ... rumours of City/Manure thinking of offering £25m for him .... now look at him, 1 year later and he can't hit a barn door.

A bit like Fabregas ... Arsenal should have sold him last year when he was arguably the best midfielder in the prem ... now his preferred destination - Barca are only prepared to pay £35m for him.

In today's market, Bale's value is what ... £50/60 million ... this time next year it could be £20/30 million tops, especially with the new expenditure rules coming into play.

But, as has been stated repeatedly, Daniel Levy has backed himself into a corner on this one. It is unlikely he would last as Chairman, or if he did that he would ever be taken seriously again, if he does sell them. Naive to think otherwise.

I would definitely accept a bid of Johnson and £40m+ or Johnson and Adebayor and ~£30m. A ready made (less injury prone) replacement and enough cash for a triffic centre forward.

True, but my point was that it won't be hard to refuse. It's a simple door closed attitude.

If money is the motivation and Levy wants to deal, then he's gone back on his statement.

I agree with what you are saying, but the fact is that any offer is not hard to refuse.

Other teams can bid all they like. Levy clearly isn't going to sell. We don't need 50m to improve our team. It would be nice but not necessary. Two new strikers and some INS and outs and we're cooking. We aren't in a position where we need to sell. That's the point.

Is this supposed to be a joke. Our 3 best midfielders (assuming VDV is not one) are being linked with moves away to top clubs. Seriously? We need to keep Bale, Sandro and Modric!

One of the reasons journos write so much bullshit about Spurs is because we Spurs fans perpetuate it ourselves once they start writing it. Levy had said no big players will be sold, so can we stop talking about it?!

I think there might be something in this line of reasoning. I say sell him if a really good offer comes in.
