The character Bucho in Desperado was played by Joaquim de Almeida (thanks IMDB).
A&C's earlier quotes came from Victor Hugo.
Hugo Almeida - Portuguese centre-forward.
No idea on his contract situation and based on my past form with cryptics, nothing to do with A&C's quotes!

Steve Buscemi's character in Desperado is listed as an 'unnamed American man' on wiki, are we trying to bring Dempsey back?

We played a 4-3-3 this weekend, in the AVB style. We had one winger coming in (Chadli) and one staying wide (Lennon) with the aim of getting the crosses into the box. Both full backs pushed on well and Siggy playing as the furthest forward of the midfield 3 floated from left to right and popped up at the edge of the box several times. I realise this looks a lot like a 4-2-3-1 but the difference is that Siggy's starting position should be further back and he was looking to move later than a 10 usually would and pick up the ball in space. He did an OK job at this and created a couple of very good opportunities by making late runs (one where Lennon choose to cross to the near post instead of cutting back to Siggy and the chance where Soldado cut it back him and he narrowly missed).

I can see us making 3 more additions to the squad before the end of the window, one being a creative player capable of playing from the left or in the whole (for example Willian or Eriksen), another winger capable of getting goals (i.e. Lamela) and a LB, if we get those I can see Siggy being moved on and Chadli being used as the AM in the midfield 3.

Yeah I don't really know how much difference there is between the two formations, but if the Sigurdsson position is supposed to be playing deeper, then I really don't think that's the sort of position that Willian would be playing. Surely he'd be brought in as the Bale replacement?

I said this earlier in the window, but if Bale goes I would like to see that money spent on two wide players (with Chadli to compete with both), one creative midfielder (an Eriksen for example) and another striker.

Massively optimistic, but considering how much Bale carried the team at times, we need some serious upgrades to get those creativity levels up.

*sigh*

I just want it to be over now to be honest.

On IMDB it lists the character as "Buscemi." So, one-name character, and Willian goes by one name.

I bloody hope not! He's USELESS!!!! Watched him playing for Besiktas a few times. He struggles in that league so can't see him coping with EPL

Or... (lead character in Desperado is "El Mariachi"). Translates roughly as "the musician". I.e. Will I am (Willian). C'est vrai, n'est pas?

AVB's porto typically played with a front three consisting of a striker, a creator and an inverted winger (whose job was to score goals)

So Willian's position would not be in the middle of a 4-3-3 but either the left of a front 3 in a 4-3-3 (so he would be competition for Lennon in this formation) to work as our creator, or in the centre of a 3 just behind the striker (being competition for Siggy/Bale/Chadli) in a 4-2-3-1 formation.

Willian can't be a Bale replacement as his game is too different and would leave AVB with an unbalanced front 3 again, as we would lack a goal scoring inverted winger (Chadli is good cover for this role but cannot but our only option). I could see the reasoning behind us getting just Lamela as a Bale replacement, or both Willian and Lamela to replace Bale, but not just Willian.

Thems my onions anyway. I also want this whole PG Tips drama to go away too.

Maybe I have gone mad but A&C seems pretty adamant with the quotes today. Or maybe as someone alluded to earlier, he's just in the early stages of a stroke o_O
If this is the kind of stuff A&C spouts in the early stages of a stroke, i hope he's still not posting as he approaches the vinegar stroke.....

Did I miss something and A&C has now become a cryptic ITK?

Or is everyone so desperate for any semblance of ITK that people have gone a bit mad?

definitely gone mad, and on cold turkey from taking a pinch of salt. The ulcer seems to be healing.

My onion is that the quotes are actually to do with Willian.
I have no evidence for that - I just want it to be true.
Either that or he's just proving that he can post anything and somehow we'll link it to a player from somewhere, 'cos we're the real Desperados.
