Honestly, just read this line... "One of my best mates has a mate at work who's sister apparently works for a company"

Moving on...

Um, he's a Tottenham player. My best mates's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard from this bloke who knows this kid who's giving it to the chick who saw Barkley change his bank details and Chinese investments yesterday. I guess it's pretty serious.

HAHA! I'm not even remotely impatient. Shit, I've been one of the only fans on here telling all the knee jerkers to calm down.

I'm not gonna de-rail this thread with this discussion but I saw a stat somewhere saying that only once in the last 20 years (or something like that) have we not signed a single player before July 24th. Don't quote me on that cos I can't remember the dates but either way, there is no denying that we could've done a deal by now. I'm fine with it but I'd still like to see us strengthen before the games actually kick off in mid-august.

Earlier you get your transfer business done the better. Not for the benefit of fans but for the benefit of getting sorted and organised in pre-season training.
Calm down, you knee jerker! ;)

"Doctor" ITK is pretty good too; especially when people do their best to discredit it and he turns out to be bang on the money. ;) Can't remember who the player was now. Was it Siggy?

Thats the problem right there, we dont need players like other clubs, we just need squad players. The only position we need cover in is right back. But it would be nice getting cover in for Eriksen.

We need a ready-made 2nd Right back to complement Trippier, a natural right sided wide player who can beat people on the outside, hug the touchline and get in behind defences. Finally we need a striker that can realistically put pressure on Kane for his place in the side - the dutch lad is a prospect, but think we need a proven PL goalscorer to complement Kane. I think we need a squad player at CB and need to tie up Pau or get a 2nd keeper we would be happy to rely on for the season should Lloris get injured.

Hugely disappointing to see the club refusing / failing to invest in a squad that is 95% there giving our competition the chance to make up ground on us. Walker replacement should have been sorted in advance of him being allowed to leave - we'll now be quoted well over the odds having sold him for £50m and Level won't pay that kind of premium. It took us years of wasted investment before we finally got 95% of a title winning squad together - without investment we will move backward compared to the teams investing £200m+ this off season.

As long as we do invest properly in the side SOON, its not all bad - but players need a pre-season with us to hit the ground running - we need to learn the lesson that a little more in transfer fees is fine, if it means we get players in early and get a solid pre-season under their belt. We perhaps need to spend £80m to stay out in front of City, Arse and United - so get it done, spend the money and let give Poch some time to work with his new signings.

Come on Spurs, this is our best squad in my lifetime - don;t waste this opportunity by not making the necessary investment this summer!

I get the feeling that we're pretty relaxed with transfers at the moment (much the opposite of some of the fans it seems). I think Poch wants to see how the US tour goes before making a final decision. Sure we'll have potential signings in the pipeline but I don't think we're desperate to move now. This could be why Hertyid suggests it's quiet at the moment. That isn't to say we wont bring anyone in.

The US tour will show where we are. I think KWP in particular will get a chance to show what he's capable of against top opposition. He could do what Winks did last summer. Also a chance for the likes of CCV and Onomah. Not to mention the likes of Nkoudou and Janssen who could still come good (they surely must have a better season than last). Maybe Lamela comes back in time for the busy December schedule too. Vorm is way better backup than Pau anyway so Pau will only play for U23s if we sign him.

All in all this is a strong squad that will continue to develop again. I think we will make a couple of signings for the first team and possibly a couple for the U23s. The first team is still strong and we have a couple of good options from the bench. So if we don't sign anyone until the end of the window it will not impact us too much. Any new signing will have time to settle because the first team is already set up.
