Dibs on a player is all well and good if the player wants to come to us, judging by what JJ said it could well mean the player we had dibs on is the one which fell through, so now who knows where we are with the deal?

Hmmm, Hulk not Chelsea bound yet he was with AVB just the other day, interesting. I get the feeling once Modric is gone we are gonna bag ourselves a big money deal, could it be Hulk....

heres hoping. optimistics ahoy. :(

Every year we hear the excuse of "waiting for (insert rich club here) to finish their business". Personally I think it's nonsense.

Ganso would be a better signing than both of them. More prem ready.

Anyways, still waiting for Ade to be stamped yet. Let's not get of ourselves.

Will be typical Spurs - splash an absolute fortune on a crock of sh*t (Hulk). If we ever do actually spend an insane amount of money, at least spend it on someone decent (as previously mentioned - in the mould of Llorente, Falcao, Higuain etc ... not Bentley mark 2).

Ganso isn't very good, infact he is ridiculously overhyped. Rather we didn't splash big bucks on him

Every year we do lots of business in the last week of the transfer window so it might not be nonsense.

I'm not buying it. We want 40m, so why would Daniel Levy(!) give up and accept 'considerably less'. That seems very out of character to me. Its only the 18th of July, theres plenty of time left to negotiate, so why would we just accept a lower offer now?

Because he DL, might be getting what he wants within the total deal. e.g. Less money but + player

The bolded part is spot on. The first bit is bollocks, frankly. Just because a player is overhyped doesn't mean the player is shit. Let's not go overboard. But yes, we're not talking about a player anyone in their right mind should pay much above ~£12m for, seeing as he isn't actually a bad player. Just not deserving of the ballwashing he has received.

The ACN can't be in June/July because that is the winter in the Southern hemisphere.

Really? How do they do they play the ANC, do they pick a city/country like WC? And the winter part, apparently it's about 20C in South Africa atm.

The ITK only said that we had 'dibs' on a player, not that we were getting said player within the Modric deal.

As we've learnt from the Leandro and Internacional fiasco, 'dibs' means fuck all if the player isn't interested.

The dibs thing? What does that even mean? Unless DL can guarantee the price he wants or the player we have "dibs" on is signed to a contract, I'm calling that utter fucking rubbish I'm afraid.

If it's cash and a player in return, fine, but that's hardly dibs. And what if we have dibs on this player but find a better alternative? Will RM stump up the difference? Will they bollocks. Dibs FFS. Playground madey-uppy cack.

A little more clarity on what "dibs" means would be very helpful.
