I have just read the MS article where he says he wants to remain in England but he only wants a champions league team, he says he dont want to play in the Europa league... Scummers it is then.

I can't help but think its Chelsea. I would imagine Jose likes the idea Morgan and Matic both holding in those big CL games. And it also stops any of their rivals getting him.

Wouldn't suprise me...the oligarch loves to buy players just so other clubs cant.

Apparently they have their sights set on Vidal, not sure any of the other 3 need/want him.

Yep. He'll just replace Mikel's place in the squad IMO.

Didn't Jose already come out and say that Loftus-Cheek would have a place in the first team squad next season? Getting in MS would contradict that.

It would, but his priority is winning the league once again. If he feels Schneiderlin is better off at Chelsea then his rivals, I'm sure he would much rather live with contradicting his words then having explain to Abramovich why they didn't retain the title.

Yeah, I don't make a habit of listening to what Jose says. He's going to do what he thinks is best to strengthen the team, so if it's easier to throw money at someone rather than patiently nurture talent that may not even work you'll bet he's going to take the former option.

@Mairtin123 I guess you don't know who Adam Smith is? Academy produced right back who signed for Bournemouth last year. Not the father of modern economics.

Well Adam Smith doesnt play and I wouldnt be surprised at all if he gets sold this summer. He's not a premier league RB. DeAndre Yedlin is an international, world cup veteran RB who still has Eden Hazard in his pocket and has alot of potential. Academy graduate or not, Adam Smith is simply not good enough. Btw, Kieran Trippier could very well be on his way to Bournemouth, and not Spurs.

Veteran is a bit strong there but that's just semantics.

My point being Yedlin is clearly not good enough yet. I doubt Bournemouth would start him, and why else send him there on loan? Otherwise wouldn't there be interest? How many times has Yedlin even played for the U21s. He may become great but we're talking about next season.

The next person to mention Yedlin will be cursed with an itchy bell end.

If you want to talk about the merits of individual players do it in their thread or start one. Not in here. FFS

jasper on ms: As I said and maintain, he couple weeks ago with his agents wanted us, but finances would be the issue if a deal can be done as Saints want top dollar. I believe I said they are going a DL. If it does not happen is because we won't pay 20+ million for him. That is how I would see it, and time will tell.

Pretty much as some of us expected. I wonder what Pochettino would think of that? Does he, like AVB, have expectations related to spending that aren't in line with the club's recent austerity in the transfer market? The quotes he's given on the summer transfer window don't strike me as someone who's perfectly content with squad signings who won't immediately help the first XI.
