I think we're going to struggle with a DM. Berahino would be a brilliant signing though. Just wondering how the WBA chairman is going to explain things.
I get the feeling Peace has already been planning how to spin this one for a little while now

Yep it seems to be on the DM that we're scrabbling around.

Having said that, if Berahino doesn't work out I'm not sure what backups we've got in mind. Hope JJ's positivity means that it's done.

All in all it's going to be a nerve-wracking day, and we'll do well to come out of it with both a good Striker and a good DM.

The backups will be Austin (who JJ has stated we have no interest in) and... well, exactly.

If it gets too late, the only thing we can do is pull back on Adebayor's potential move to wherever he decides "he feels like" playing. That is a last resort.

The DM is the problem too. Although Dier was excellent on Saturday, he's not the answer.

Aint no Berahino at West Brom
It's not warm when he wants away

If we fail to sign anyone today I say we all buoycott watching Spurs this weekend. Who's with me? :cautious:

I hope the JJ tweet means it's definitely happening. Surely news would break soon if a deal is agreed. Get it done early and then we can spend the rest of the day looking for a defensive midfielder on offer. We're due a Levy special on deadline day.

I think it will be James Wilson if we can't get Berahino. Whether that will be a loan or permanent who knows.

I love that JJ is positive.

Now a positive snippet on a decent standard of CDM would be lovely and we can all relax a little and concentrate on getting the unwanteds out for the rest of the window.

I am sat here in Southern China with SC pages on constant refresh. JD and coke next to me. Outside it is over 30'C and my little un and wife have decided today of all days they want to go to a park for the evening. Suddenly my knee (true injury last month) is playing up again and they have just left me for about 3 hours. It only cost about 3quid on ice creams! Thinking hard how I can get them to stay out for another 2/3 hours without them getting too suspicious.
Any ITK is great even if not positive- but I am very positive. It's a lovely day outside and JD and I are happy together

Personally see Berahino as more important than a DM due to any other striking options being a square peg in a round hole and Kane looking jaded - so great news if this happens. If Baldy gets a good CM in addition like Witsel, he's had a heroic window. I could even be happy with a bit of a stopgap midfielder as long as we have another striker, it just depends if Poch would play them or not.

I think other windows being closed doesn't help us - we can only buy from teams that are confident they don't need to replace a player.
Can Dortmund afford to let Bender go with no replacement possible?

Hopefully there are options in the leagues that still have windows open...
Portugal?
Finland...
Romania...
Ukraine...
Israel...
Scotland...
