Are we idiots to expect two, let alone one £20 million + signings?

We have round about broken even at the moment... History tells us that's where we like to be, at worst.

My guess will be Son will be lauded as the attacking cover for Kane, with N'jie also filling in.

All great in theory until it actually needs to be tested... We saw how awfully it worked for Liverpool last season.

So it looks like transfer window norm for us. Lots of names mentioned then nothing. We desperately needed a striker and look to finish with less strikers than we started with. Oh yes, we may still get a 22 year old with a goal record for Newcastle of 7 goals in 50 or so games. His goal ratio seems a little low for a team trying to be in the top 4.....

Only positive is that we at least got some defenders but as the first 4 games show, we are not strong up front and haven't been for a while. I am thinking we are going to slide back down to mid table since other teams are making good signings and will overtake us.

Spurs, Arsenal and United all need a striker... Charlie Austin better have a good signal and decent battery left!

What if the delay in announcing was because West Brom hadn't finished their business and they didnt want it known they were shopping with the Berahino funds?...just saying...

I am quite confident that our business is done now. It is what it is, Levy owes us nothing, and as fans we have to deal with it. Lets just focus on what happens on the pitch and make WHL noisy. We have all been here before, spouting the same old stuff. Fact is we have signed some good quality players and offloaded some deadwood. We knew this would happen and Levytime has always been stuff of Legend. COYS

Can everyone just chill.
We will know by 6 or even later what we have and havent done.
Just cos Jim White et al arent tugging your tackle vigorously it doesnt mean nothing is happening.
And even if nothing does happen itsnot exactly a suicide watch job...my best mate supports sorry supported Hereford.

-No developments
-Lamela blocked last minute? Why?
-Son supposedly a lone striker now according to the club
-We have no money left from sales

Evidence all pointing to one outcome at the moment.

too quiet for my liking. something would have slipped through by now. Every deadline day when there has been a deal simmering has been all over the media, but there is nothing.

Gards currently in full meltdown mode btw. Said he doesn't reckon we'll finish in the top 10 at this rate haha. I'm keeping the faith with JJ that we'll have Berahino in come the next few hours.

He has some knowledge of goings ons. But not much about actual football.

I don't think people realise what a quality player and signing Son is. He could definitely play as a striker as can N'jie, Chadli and at a push Lamela. Dier played really well at the weekend. Stay positive.

We've moved Son from a MF to a ST on the official page.

Striker clearly not happening, jesus christ. Talk about insulting our intelligence.

Preparing for all the screenshotting and posting on Twitter of Kane on his own! Levy probably got them to do it! :D

Would explain Lamela staying too. Christ.

Lamela is not a cf as njie and son are not either (going by reports).
Kane is our only true cf and if this is still the case come 6pm we are in trouble as we have a lot of games this season and Kane could get injured or lose form and we are left with the option of lamela , chadli , son or njie up top playing out of position and 3 out of the 4 are unproven in the EPL in their favoured position and would be asking a lot for them to adjust in their 2 nd best position
