Lessons learned should be for us really. Was it ever to be any different? CF and CM are the positions that cost the most to get quality, which should have tempered our expectations.

Levy earns over £2m a year, but can't seem to crack the basics of putting a squad together.

Hope we have patience with Kane if he continues his rough and tired patch. And with Poch who has one bona fide striker at his disposal. I'd imagine he might be quite cheap to sacrifice on the altar though?

We signed two strikers this summer.

Son is a striker in the same way that Lamela's a striker (i.e. only if we really stretch the definition). Njie might be best up front and through the middle, but that's not where he played for Lyon. In short, you're spinning.

Were never gonna pay a ton for Berahino to back up Kane and he wouldn't have started in behind, we';ve tons of options there.

Plus there is a reasonable opportunity for younger players to get minutes in the team.
