Last I heard Levy was adamant he would not pay him up. He wanted the full amount of his contract, and wasn't willing to take a part pay off to leave.

I'm a bit surprised we don't give him a pay rise to leave. i.e if Villa were prepared to pay 50% of his wages, we could pay him 60% so that he got a 10% raise. We'd still be saving money.

Obviously I wouldn't want us to that for West Ham.

If the cost is the same to release Adebayor as it is to let him rot then Levy is doing the right thing IMO. No point letting him sign for another team and help them (and potentially score against us) unless it results in a significant saving for us.

And, as per usual, the Gingers got it wrong.

JJ has a strong following for a reason, he doesn't blow smoke up your arse.

If he is posting positively, there is a very good reason. His track record, which has been virtually flawless over the past few seasons, reinforces that.

I think JJ's positivity is just about Berahino though (which is why he included reference to Berahino). I don't know whether that positivity stretches to anything else...like a DM for example.

How are the Damiao negotiations going? Surely after 4 years that one must almost be over the line.

The greed is outrageous. The "equitable" position would be (and I use the term loosely), we give him a part pay off for the amount that the new club doesn't pay his existing wage.

Otherwise all he gets is a flat salary to do nothing. No chance to earn bonuses for scoring etc. So short sighted if true.
Correct. Not to mention that if we paid him to leave, but not close to in full, he'd be free to go to a new club and get a sign on fee.
New sign on fee, new salary, new bonus structure, maybe a longer contract than for the next 10 months... Short sighted doesn't cover it.

I'd rather pay 100% than reward behaviour like this. I hope no one touches him with a barge pole when he eventually finds himself out of contract.

There's a report on the BBC site saying how unhappy AVB is with the lack of transfer activity at Zenit & how gutted he is to miss out on Moutinho again. He's gonna be even more pissed if we do manage to get Witsel.

Really hope the Witsel thing comes off though i'd also be happy with Wanyama if Southampton do change their minds. My head says neither will happen and we'll end up with someone else but my heart says Witsel. My cock says pornhub so I'll see you all in about 4 minutes.

Apparently it's AVB who promised Witsel he would let him move away if he gave him his all last season.

Server seems ok my end, please report any issues :)

Do they have to be server issues or can we report anything else that may be of concern?
(not wanting to start any trouble but @Archibald&Crooks hasn't been all that recently, I think it's the prospect of becoming a signed up member of the BsoDL brigade ;))

We should re-locate our training ground for the Under 21's to Birmingham, just to really wind him up

I'm hoping this is the transfer window when this "joke" dies... sorry to pick your comment @freeeki , nothing personal, but I love this thread and the Damiao comments are beyond long in the tooth.

Its weird that that footballers just cannot be sacked like in another job. Ade is not performing, is disruptive, another job he would have been fired.

West Stand Give Us A Song on COYS talking about adebayor:

my man confirmed he is talking to west ham but (obvioulsy) its complicated and he's not hopeful it will happen. Also, west ham were only team in for Song.
Moose on talkshie said that there was chance that Spurs would pay off or cancel his contract in order that he signs for them.

Even better that's what I call thinking outside the box
we could just hire a field for the season a really shitty one with a portaloo as a changing room one that's just come back from a music festival will do it

Interesting that Colomosse at the Standard seems to think Spurs are cautiously optimistic on Berahino and Witsel but the players side in both cases aren't so sure.

Hopefully the JJ update is more recent!

Just put the **** through the football equivalent of Navy SEAL's hell week every week, brutally tough training schedules with a personal trainer that makes the drill instructor in Full Metal Jacket seem like a big girls blouse, make life as tough for him as possible and he will be begging to leave

Any industrial tribunal would eat us alive if we did that, blatant bullying tactic if he is singled out for that.

His attitude is disgusting, but only the club will know if he has done anything to breach his contract. If we coerce him into a breach, we could be held liable for constructive dismissal.

In regards to Ade..if he wanted to go he could, I believe him being over 27 and in the last year of his contract he can 'buy' himself out of his contract and move to play football.
Personally I would not be at all bothered if he never train or played with us again.
Another year out and his career is just about finished..
