Can someone fill me in on all the diarra talk I saw yesterday evening please?

Apparently he's in London to sign for us. Let's hope so as he's a brilliant player that would fit the side well...especially with Sandro out injured.

 thanks.

Sounds good, I'm sure he will be a good signing if we can tie up a deal for him.

I really don't think money is the issue, more the fact that the players we want to take us to the next level all want CL football and/or are simply not interested.

Which is why we should have put our hands in our pockets last summer/January.

Its too late now, the better players dont want to come.

Don't want Barton any where near the club I would n't care if he was the worlds best, which he is not, but he is a first class T*** and I don't think Levy would sanction a bid for someone who could bring the club into disripute,

Surely we should get Barton and Adebayor to go with Gallas as the set of "disruptive influences in the dressing room".

Gallas has been no problem, why would Ade or Barton?

We completely missed the boat last summer then even more so in January.

This was the time to improve on what we had and for some unknown bizarre reason we didnt and now we are facing the consequences.

We were a CL club and in Jan we had just come off the back of beating the European champions. The whole of Europe was talking about us and we played some great football in front of an amazing spectacle of a home ground which is WHL on a European night. THIS WAS THE TIME that we could of attracted a truly world class striker to take us to the next level. AAAAAARRRGGGHHHH Its so bloody annoying....

We completely ballsed it up in the only way THFC can.

Now as it stands we have no CL football and are seen as a selling club who cant really compete with the big boys. Redknapp and co are making us look two bob with their actions aswell. Is anyone really surprised we cannot attract the top players?

We blew our big chance.

Barton is a good player when he isnt being a total prick! he was great for newcastle last year.

He would only be back up here, can see him getting offers from clubs below us to be first team so cant see him coming to us, which is good, because he is a total prick and wouldnt want him near our team

If you want to talk about the merits of Diarra vs. Palacios, you know where to go.

Come on folks, please don't make us lock this thread again. Start as we mean to go on.

Diarra over Barton every day of the week

but £15m compared to free has to be a factor

We could probably do with both if we can shift Palacios and Jenas.

Both would fit with our high tempo approach and both could work well with either Hudd, Sandro or Modric in the middle.

Barton has clearly been a horrible excuse for a prfessional footballer but everybody should have a chance to move on as they grow up.
