Re the Bentley ITK, I'm kind of expecting someone to pick up some info from the Scout, as iirc he is the cousin on DB's agent (or something). Which site is he on, COYS or another?

Well we got Keane out the door, so Bentley and GDS must surely leave soon too? They're the 3 players we've been so desperately trying to get out the door.

QPR would be a good move for Bentley and if they can take Crouch as well then that would be perfect.

Keane has gone, if Pav AND Crouch are sold, Adebayor in, we need one other striker, right?

If Defoe, Adebayor and one other are our main strikeforce next season, does that mean Leandro will come in January?

Surely we wont shift Pav and Crouch unless we have two replacements lined up? Adebayor and KJH/Ruiz?

Bentley going is good news and seems very much on the cards given his new training position with the kids.

Still can't believe after all the ITK on Ade and Diarra that there's no official announcement yet... guess maybe the fact we have offers for Crouch and Palacios pending means we want to tie up their departures before announcing them?

Anyone whored FTL and the other forums yet this morning?

ITK tends to slow down during game days, in fact, on weekends at all. Weekends, even in football, are considered to be non-business days. I wouldnt be surprised if the deals go through on monday, in time for a boost for the united game.

Something like Diarra and Adebayor in the stands to watch us at old trafford.

I think starting the season with Defoe and Adebayor would be sufficient, considering we only play one up front. I still fully expect us to bring Leandro in during the January window, allowing us to ease him in slowly throughout the rest of the campaign.

If we were to somehow end up with both Defoe and Adebayor unavailable before January, we have Harry Kane in reserve, who can be recalled from any loan we may have sent him out on.

Altohugh, I feel this is all rather moot because I don't think we'll be fortunate enough to get rid of Keane, Pav and Crouch in one window.

Comparing apples with oranges though. People are moaning about the lack of signings because they know we have the need to sign top players, have the money to sign top players, we have regular information regarding the signing of top players, but days keep going by without the actual signing of top players.

If our situation was different, the attitude of the fans would be different. Most of us remember the dire 90s when we were forced to sign players of the calibre of Paolo Tramezzani and were getting rejected by the mighty Andy Hinchcliffe.

I think Crouch is probably gone after the other night tbh. Pav is needed if we don't get another striker in addition to Ade, but I would be happy to see him go if we replace him with better.

Considering that he wasn't a regular starter for the O's last season, I think it rather early for us to be considering Kane for a first team place. IMO we need to have 3 experienced strikers + VdV. Even with VdV last season we often played 2 up front.

I still can't see us shifting 2 more strikers. I have a feeling Crouch will still be here

I would rather Pav went over Crouch, He's done his bit for us but he's not going to take us to the next level. Pav cannot play as a lone striker. I know Crouch is painful alot of the time but he does add something different.

Wed understand if our club had no money and no players to sell to raise money.

However.

Considering that he wasn't a regular starter for the O's last season, I think it rather early for us to be considering Kane for a first team place. IMO we need to have 3 experienced strikers + VdV. Even with VdV last season we often played 2 up front.

It's not considering him for a first team place though, is it? He'd be a back up to the back up for the first choice striker. And even then, he'd only hold that role for four months, until Leandro comes in.

Only reason we played VDV and two up front was because our strikers were too piss poor to play up top alone.

The signing of Adebayor will change that problem.

So it looks like top top traffic lad crouch is staying and that arry would rather sell super pav. That makes sense to me as arry would rather look after his mates first. However those of you who think we will get rid of both are very wide of the mark I think. That would be suicide with amount of time VDV spends injured.
