And Dawson supposedly saying something about Defoe being able to take the competition from Adebayor (but no actual quotes).

Yep its on front page news... think he says will be great if he does come in...

We won't sell Pav and Crouch this window... Maybe one now one in Jan but only if someone else is coming... I think we'll get rid of Gio Bentley and Hutton if we can and bring in Diarra and maybe a cb Can't see us signing a winger or other striker... would like to see some more of townsend in Lennon's role in last 30 mins of games exciting player and likewise use Livermore towards end of games tidy player to come in for Huddlestone or Lennon and shift modric out wide to see out games...

I am sure recently I have read reports where the management at Barcelona ruled out any move for Afellay this year and stated he will remain their player.

Also I read that Schalke released a statement to say that Farfan is not for sale

Marin looked a wonderful player in the CL last year and I am sure our management were impressed by him, but I just don't see this one happening this window.

Kranjcar isn't an attacking winger and has no pace.
Rose is a LB now, not a winger.
Bale and Lennon are starters, yes.
Towsend is young, but hasn't shown enough at a lower level.
Pienaar is decent, but hasn't got much pace.

We need someone like Ruiz, Farfan who can play out wide and offer a goal threat.

So it looks like top top traffic lad crouch is staying and that arry would rather sell super pav. That makes sense to me as arry would rather look after his mates first. However those of you who think we will get rid of both are very wide of the mark I think. That would be suicide with amount of time VDV spends injured.

I think Pav is the right one to sell, can't play on his own or with a partner! If VDV and adebayor got injured I would happily partner crouch and Defoe. If we get good money for Pav get him gone!!! Has there been any ITK on wide players since GFTS?

I think it was Greyfox that said when things are really quiet around the club it can actually be a postive thing, can sometimes mean something big is being worked on. Probally not the case here but worth bearing in mind if your the optimistic type!
