I'm happy with that to be fair, Kramer would be my number one choice (And has been since day one) but if we can't agree something, Illara sounds good on loan with option to buy.

I like Bender but his fitness does concern me, and I think Dortmund want too much money for him in comparison to the risk we have to take...

For what it's worth, I saw a programme the other day, like a Bundesliga preview before the season started, reviewing each team. Leverkusen really feel hopeful for this year, one of the reasons being the addition of Kramer, who has said he is ready to step up and play there.

May have just been for show on the camera, but it sounds like he is pretty happy there:(:(

I saw this too, it's because he's been away for 2yrs and has recently signed a new contract with Leverkusen - so he's happy to be 'home' again.

Why illaramendi still looking at options? He is guaranteed first teamer in our team and he should feel amazed that there's still club at the top level that wants him after his horrendous time ar real

Collomosse at the standard backing up @ryantegan info re Illaramendi, initial loan deal on the table but he wants CL football.

That said he also said we have enquired for Wanyama in the same piece which contradicts the Hertyid info.

Perhaps he doesn't think see the beauty in Tottenham High St and away trips to Moldova the same way you or I do.

Shouldn't he concentrate on playing regular 1st team football first?

That being said IMO there is no way all the CL teams will pass up the chance of snapping up a player of his talent.

Illaramendi should feel himself a lucky guy that a top 6 club from epl wants him and he can actually play football with the team rather than sitting around the bench... He should beg to us to take him ..he should not think about cl football ... First play some football then he can think about cl football

Deadline day is fine by me. As long as we actually bring someone in as a DM.

It's just the dread I feel at the 11pm (or 5.59pm) live link to WHL for when the Sky Sports journalist says "All quiet and no word on any late transfers from Spurs". Brings back those Damiao / Moutinho / Berbs-Frasier Campbell feeling a all up.

Interesting stuff from ryan, I think it sums up our situation perfectly when regarding players to improve the first XI.

The players we want to take us into the Champions League today are the ones that want to be in the Champions League today. It's not a bad thing that the players we target want big things, we just have to hope they can see they can achieve that with us (and our record of selling our best players after a few years service without CL football should be used as an additional factor to attract them as they can see they won't be stuck with Europa League football forever if it doesn't go to plan).

I have no problem with Illaramendi or Bender or Kramer saying they are interested but they want to see if a bigger team comes in for them, and equally I have no problem with us waiting for a quality player who is first choice in his position rather than just overpaying for someone who isn't quite as good just to get the deal done. If we can't get them in then Poch has to get more from the players he has, which is his job, and maybe we get a youth player make a break through.

As long as we try to have an agreement with the selling club/player that if no one comes in offering CL football this season before August 30th, then the player is ours, I'm okay. I'm happy to be patient for a player who could be absolutely crucial for us.

The waiting is probably why none of the ITKs are 100% committed to the signing of a particular player.

If Arsenal sign him he probably backs himself to play very regularly. Chelsea or City maybe not but he will still back his own ability. Sevilla may come in for example if the Polish guy is sold.

There does appear to be this scary thing these days where top players think they are invisible unless playing in CL. Moving the European Cup from League winners to 4 from the top leagues has made this divide/barrier happen.
