That's that player off our list then. No way we spend 40million plus this window, loan with obligation was the only way tjis would of happened i feel. Next....

If you read the article we didn't offer a loan with obligation. Just a loan with option.

Wolves want a loan with obligation it is implying.

But today was beyond woeful, and very occasional bitching is my fee for the 40 years. So I bit a little.

‘Today’ (yesterday now but still) we won away against an established premier league team. We did it in a game in which we made their keeper work harder than ours did. Was it the kind of football I want to watch? No. Do I think our squad is at the level required/expected as it stands today? No. But firstly, if your definition of beyond woeful is winning away at wolves, you need to relax a little. Secondly, and I know this is hard for some people, let’s wait until the window actually closes before we moan about what a shit window it is shall we?

I was just about to like this post and then you had to compare with Bergwijn, who had another good game yesterday.

Why do we feel a need to tear someone down when praising another? It's needless.

Amongst other good things, Bergwijn produced an unbelieveable bit of skill on that left byline which left 2 or 3 players for dead. He then laid the ball on a plate for Kane who probably should score. The kid has just needed consistent game time and to build his confidence back up.

As far as Traore goes, I wasn't mad about the idea but I do agree that he causes chaos and that with better players around him he could offer a lot. Lennon wasnt the best when it came to a final ball but his electric pace got him in good positions and he made that work to his advantage.
Said this earlier re Aaron Lennon. Very popular player because he got you off your seat and created a great atmosphere although the end product was not always great.
I would love Traore at Spurs if the manager wants him.

I never believed Martinez was realistic with Kane staying. But in case of Adama, I certainly believe its a deal we can do in the last week

Nuno Espírito Santo keen to sign winger Adama Traoré for Tottenham

Nuno Espírito Santo is pushing Tottenham Hotspur to sign Adama Traoré but an offer to bring in the winger on loan has been rejected by Wolverhampton Wanderers. Nuno worked with Traoré at Wolves and wants to use his good start to the season, winning both league games as head coach, to sign another attacking player. Traoré, 25, can also play down the middle as a striker.

Tottenham were willing to pay £5 million with an option to make the deal permanent next summer. Wolves turned that down as they want a guaranteed sale — which could be a loan with an obligation to purchase next summer — if they are to sanction a move for Traoré, who has two years left on his deal. He has an offer to extend his contract at Wolves but has not agreed personal terms.

Traoré managed only two goals and two assists in the league last season compared with four goals and nine assists in the previous campaign. Tottenham are also not expected to sell Lucas Moura or Steven Bergwijn, both attacking wide players.

Tottenham are in advanced talks to sign Pape Matar Sarr, the 18-year-old Metz midfielder, but face competition from several other clubs. Bernard Serin, the Metz president, claimed a deal worth more than £12 million has been agreed. “Nothing is signed, but I have a verbal agreement with the president of Tottenham,” Serin said at the weekend.

That actually sounds pretty promising, if their main concern is that we don’t take up the option and then his contract is running down so they can’t get fair value. Could be one of those deals where he has to agree to a year extension (like Foyth) to get the move, or we need to negotiate more favorable terms, but it does sound like a deal is there to be done.

We can’t just endlessly put off bringing in a second striker, presumably on the off chance that someone top notch comes up from the academy. Its obvious that Levy’s top consideration for targets is value rather than squad weaknesses, and it’s very hard to find value in potential strikers. But at some point Kane is going to not be around anymore, and unless we are considering dispensing with the striker position altogether, this is one bullet that’s going to have to be bitten eventually.

Alasdair Golds latest article:

Traore/ Striker:
Tottenham are expected to try to bring Traore to the club in the final eight days of the transfer window because, without putting too fine a point on it, Espirito Santo loves him.

The other key element in the interest is that Paratici is also a big fan of the player and is understood to have offered more than £50m to Wolves to try to sign him when he was at Juventus.

There has been talk of a loan to buy move and the belief among Espirito Santo and Paratici is that within a team that can boast, on paper, more attacking talent around Traore, his ability to draw two to three players to him because of the fear and the need to doubling up he creates, will create space galore for his team-mates to profit in.

While his arrival would seem to block the path of at least one or two of the other wingers that include Bergwijn, who pulled off a sublime bit of skill before setting up Kane for a big chance in a good performance, Lucas Moura or new signing Bryan Gil, there is also the option mooted within the club that he instead replaces Son's position as a winger in order to push the latter further up the pitch.

That would mean changing the system to a two up front with the South Korean up alongside Kane, in a partnership that brought plenty of success for both last season. Traore is also able to play as a support striker if required through the middle.

With that in mind, football.london understands that it's currently a case of signing Traore or a striker for Tottenham.

Defenders:
Spurs' attempts to bring in another centre-back and right-back are currently being hampered by having so many players in those positions in the squad, with four natural centre-backs, plus two others capable of playing there, and three right-backs.

Ndombele/ Another attacking midfielder:
Further up the pitch, unless Tanguy Ndombele were to get his wish to move, which is currently unlikely due to the fee Spurs would require for their record signing, it's unlikely that another attacking midfielder will be brought in at this stage unless an opportunity that's simply too good to pass up arises in the final days.

Sarr:

Such a deal is the one Tottenham are in advanced talks seal for Metz wonderkid Pape Matar Sarr, with a loan move back to the French club for the season for the 18-year-old.

It's very much a move with the future in mind. The Senegalese teenager is seen as one of the most exciting young prospects in French football and can play in central midfield, or an attacking or defensive role in the middle.

Sarr has plenty of admirers within Spurs and the deal for him is being likened to the one that brought Dele Alli to the club six years ago, loaning him back to ensure not only that Tottenham get one of the top young talents in Europe ahead of others but also to continue his development and education with regular first team football in an environment he is comfortable in.
So chances are we will keep Tanguy, not play him, but not replace him either. Sounds about right for us.

So if we do sign Traore that's potentially £80m on him and Romero next season.

Hopefully we're expecting to make up a lot of lost revenue this year.
well we are now able to hold other events at the stadium as well, like NFL, Boxing, concerts etc

Not surprised if they rejected loan with option as if we don't take up the option they're stuck with with only a year left on his contract.
Only an obligation will do as it's effectively an outright purchase.
