I think we will be fine to call their bluff based on the business they're doing plus their manager said he wish he could keep both (fekir and lo celso) and contextually it was as if he was resigned to losing Lo Celso
?
They simply can not keep him as they end up with unhappy player and deficit on the books.

It's not weird, the terms changed last minute, and not from our end.

Considering Betis already have GLC’s replacement and we’re now being linked with Dybala, I’d say Levy is in a decent position to win this game of poker. I’m sure the Dybala links probably surfaced as soon as Betis moved the goal posts.

Well it doesn't seem to be going to plan with Both Lo Celso and Sessignon. Betis trying to change the terms and Parker saying he fully expects Sessignon to be staying this season. Can only hope that its's bluff from both clubs in order to get a better deal.

I hope we aren’t stalling the GLC deal due to the availability of Dybala. From the ITK, it doesn’t sound like this is the case, but if I were in GLC’s position, and all of a sudden the move I wanted looked a bit like it was hanging in the balance due to another player becoming available, I’d question how highly I was actually coveted by the club wanting to secure my services...

Jesus. Things are sounding a little less rosy.
I think, given everything, keep Eriksen and Toby, sign GLC and Sessegnon and lets be very pleased with that as a window.

A lot of times on here people like to end conversation when it’s not going their way
If you can’t see the bigger picture then I can’t help you
We are not city or united or madrid
Of course the investment in the ground and training complex would have a knock on effect
I really can’t understand how you can’t see this??

Mate, there’s nothing I would enjoy more than sitting down and buying you a pint and having a debate. It’s just harder to have a reasoned debate on a forum. It takes too long. ?

It all started when you said don’t judge us on the last two windows, look at the six before (July 2015 to 2018 essentially). My point was we actually hadn’t made any significant marquee signings since Toby. The reason for our success was a few speculative signings coming good earlier than anticipated in Alli and Dier, together with Kane’s development, and Son finding his feet. For the large part, the other members of the squad just raised their game. We didn’t buy any ready made game changers like Ndombele.

But anyway, hopefully we will get to have that beer one day! ?

I would consider that a fantastic window !

I still cannot see why loads of fans are panicking - the time to really worry is if the 'as good as done targets' i.e Sess and GLC, suddenly start getting seriously linked with other clubs. Then i'd worry, but right now anything could still happen, including Dybala.

I know that. However, we are not bottom feeders are we? We're not earning £3 or £4 million a year from shirt sponsorship like Sheffield or Norwich. We're earning £320 million from our shirt sponsorship over a period of 8 years. We're paying back £400 million for stadium costs over the same period. Of course the accounts won't show a direct connection but it's not difficult to work it out that one stream of income alone pretty much covers stadium costs for several years. Team costs are more than covered by other very lucrative streams of income and because the Club is run so well.

And if anyone thinks I'm having a pop at Levy by essentially saying that the Club is extremely well run and very profitable then they're wrong. He's the best thing that has happened to THFC over the last 20 years. He just needs to pull his finger out and do the deals faster because clubs with vastly less income leave him for dust.

Faster? he got Clarke and Ndombele in fast, and let Clarke go back to Leeds even faster.

please tell us how he should get Sess and Lo Celso in faster? when they haven't been able to train, play or even be in the same country

Great reply mate ??
I’m not into quarrelling with fellow yids it’s just a difference of opinion
Sanchez was a pretty big signing though.
Broke our transfer record and apparently beat some top teams to his signature
I honestly believe that off the field investments which we are talking billions has had a detrimental effect on incomings. However we have rode the storm well and now is the time to go for it, where as previously we have tried and failed (mostly) to sign elite players.

A pint one day sounds great
Have a good one

One first team player in more than 18 months proves the point.

I don’t understand why people say they will be happy if Toby and eriksen stay? They leave within 12 months and we receive nothing yet need to replace in summer 2020? That’s a shit trade off for one more season of them both and we know poch stance on players not in it for the long run. If they stay and sign new contracts, I agree that’s fantastic but I’d trade a conservative 65m to see them gone this summer and our club bringing in replacements on long term deals. I sense there’s an inevitability they will both go on the last day of the window and we replace eriksen interpreting itk comments and gut feel.

we all know we messed up last 2 windows, but we are discussing this 1. from the start we had 4 Poch targets, Sess, Ndombele, Lo Celso and Clarke. 2 where signed early enough, 1 sent back the other 2 have been explained a 1000 times "injured, holiday", and going by @Trix last post Betis moving the goal post.

I suspect this goes on all the time though so it will still be ok. I mean, our supreme leader has been guilty of it in the past, so can hardly be offended that it’s happened to him.

You may have been discussing this one but I've been observing an historical trend. The point still stands, 1 first team player in 18 months isn't exactly trailblazing is it?
