Red knapp says we are trying hard for a couple of big signings

http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11675_7051580,00.html

Although I'm pleased to hear this, I worry a little about a disconnect between what we and he think are big signings, and also the lines we've heard before about trying hard for deals but being too expensive in the end

Don't get me wrong, am glad we're trying and would be delighted with new faces, particularly up top. And also not necessarily worried about the "big names" coming, but the right names

5 Mil for O'Hara not registar on your cash till then?

Fair point, but that was a while ago now.

There are still a few millstones around our financial necks that we need to get rid of such as Hutton, Bassong (maybe), Keane, Dos Santos, Bentley and Jenas (maybe).

These are the players that wouldn't even get into our 'second XI' so really need to be moved on.

Once we've dealt with them we can worry about the likes of Palacios, Kranjcar, Deflyuchenkouch etc who we will probably only sell when replacements are found.

Didnt we also get a handsome wedge back from the Darren Bent sale to Villa in Jan + are set for more cash from Taarabt to PSG. Levy does have a great knack of doing good sales that benefit us in the long run.

Agree.

Would have preferred him to say "that WILL convince him to stick with us", but guess that's just semantics.

he can't say 100% what someone else is going to choose to do though, can he?

I hate the fact that HR constantly blabs to the press and oftern says a lot of inappropriate things but I like what he has said here

I don't mean to be overly sceptical, but that just appear to be scripted.

"Roma striker Mirko Vucinic, an accomplice rather negative end of the season, was certainly not the darlings of the red and yellow fans. For some time the leaders of Tottenham have set their eyes on the Montenegrin and are in the last hour trying to formalize the Rome final offer that will be around 17 million euros."
