The Goat got the ball rolling when he posted this about Cahill

This is a bit like locking the stable door after the horse has bolted but the story in today's Bolton News has clarified.
The Goat heard last week that we were way down the line to completing a deal for Cahill. The source didn't confirm which one which is why we sat on it until now
Then Roger Morgan on SO on Modric
It won't go away this one. Roll on September 1st.Roger Morgan said:Where: SO

Roger Morgan on SO Re: The Independent article on Modric (http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league/modric-changes-tack-after-spurs-stand-firm-over-chelsea-interest-2299988.html)
The Independent article, in all but his wages, is on the money I believe.
and then

The most interesting passage in the Independent story for me is the naming of Kia Joorabchian. You might find he is doing the most spinning of all, for his new chum at Chelsea. My hunch is a Luka statement saying his words were misinterpreted.

I think he was on about £40k at the end of last season, when he signed the six-year deal. I believe that put him among our top earners, so £60-70k. It seems our newspaper friends are widely reporting him as still being on £40k. Wonder why?
Then CM on a few things

Like Harry say's we are not close to signing anyone...Eales working on the Leandro transfer which like i said before will happen but is just going to drag like the Sandro deal did. Been told even before the Modric drama over the last few days that Levy is working on a marquee signing!! Levy knows that this season is make or break for us...We are very interested in Diarra. will be him or Parker not both.
I'm not holding my breath. We'll probably end up buying a large tent.
Then someone on COYS, not happy that the Modric stuff was dying down said.....
My pinch of salt is the size of a very large articulated lorry.nayim99 said:Date 20th June

Just been told that a bid of 32M has been accepted for Modric from Chelski subject to us finding a replacement first........................watch this space!
The guy has no previous, so pinch of salt as always.
And then....

OK, my last post of the evening,as I have to be on the road at 6am,I have had some more info given to me, He is actually a she..... and she works in the Human resources at Chelski FC.......This is probably a blatant lie by her to get to start the whole process all over again, pretty much what the papers have been doing since the end of the season, I hope that it is a load of Bo11ox. Is that not why we are all here, to share information, this info is probably fiction, but it has been passed on in good faith and not as a wind up. COYS
It all prompted JTG to weigh in with

Not the way the Chavs work ........transfer dealings are kept in a very tight small circle and managed and controlled and no one would leak it in the way described by the poster so I am quite skeptical but thanks for the info all the same you never know I might be wrong!!
All I have heard is that they now think they made an error with such a low ball offer and have seriously annoyed Spurs and they are now worried that if spurs do sell it will be to another probably overseas club
Finally, Brownhead with some snippets
And that is what was said yesterday.Brownhead said:Where: SC

Given up on Cardozo so I'm told, was meant to be this season(kids schooling) but after 2 yr promise he has had a change of heart. Arry gutted. Levy personally trying to get Rossi in, the ball is rolling. Still told Leandro is done, and Adebayor is now the other one. Modric stuff all true re independent article, he will go in January if we not up there and haven't shown ambition, Levy used the word SUMMER ( read his statement again ) Parker not a
Problem if we shift the deadwood first, then wages and 3 year deal for a 30 yr old will be sanctioned. Only conflicting info I have is we prefer R Johnson and not Cahill. Oh and we were watching Wickham and Sinclair at Euros
