I find it interesting that many of the Forward/WF that we are link by both Media and ITKs are mostly LWF. Why interesting? Coz we are definitely better/more stable in the LW/LWF position (Chadli and Pritchard) than the RW/RWF position. Why is it so? Is it all a smokescreen?

Ultimately though he gets goals, can play as a wide man, can play on his own up the middle, already has successful experience of partnering our top scorer, and is likely to be available for a relatively reasonable sum.

Looking it at that way, it's hard to see many reasons why we wouldn't go for it, but there's something about it that doesn't quite feel right.

Totally agree!
I quite like him and believe he can do a job for us.
I guess all 'good' players have a touch of arrogance about them - which is fine, as long as they keep delivering and don't cause a ruckus in the dressing room!

Perhaps the question should be; Can Poch pull him into shape??
After all, he is supposed to work wonders with developing players!

To me we should go out and get him - especially if it is anything like the £15m reported in the press. The chances of us now going out and buying say a Sturridge for that price are now gone. Got to speculate a little and you would hope that the club have done their diligence on the guys character. Worth the gamble and we could have a player worth quite a bit in the future if he progresses as we'd hope. I like the idea. the guys also sharp and has pace. We lack sharpness and quick movement.

In addition - the 'so called character flaws' are kind of minor when you really look at them and analyse them. Stupidity and age really.
We've had a Sturridge already.
He went under the name Darren Anderton aka sick note.

Sending Ade on loan is good news for us. He bloody loves scoring against his old clubs and if he's on loan he won't be allowed to play us.

Advantage Hotspur.

Berahino is an interesting one.

I thought he was going to be a bit of a flash in the pan, and it would still be a gamble based on one relatively good season.

There's also the questions over his attitude, though to be fair if he'd been a complete arse then Pulis would have hung him out to dry and that hasn't happened.

Every player is a gamble to a greater or lesser degree but sometimes you have to bite the bullet and take a punt, sometimes the club is a bit too cautious.
Myself i would be happy with berahino i think he has more goals to his game than say ings who we were interested in,another dozen goals scored this season with maybe a dozen less conceded might Just throw us into top four contention.

So that's 1 defender & 4 Central Midfielders out of Spurs squad in a month. 2 potential first XI defenders in.
For first time, I get the feeling club is doing the transfer business based on a well defined plan.

That well defined plan is pretty simple really.

Ask the manager what he wants and not some director of football.

I'm not so sure that's totally accurate as you can't really compare contract work to regular full-time work. Plenty here who have done contract work would probably tell you that they'll often be willing to take a pay cut to gain a longer more secure contract. Ade only has the one year left with us, if many of us were on a contract job with an unknown future we'd probably take the slight cut for something like and additional 3 or 4 years of security.
Got Mid East move all over it for 2016/17

To be fair there are a ton of similarities between Sturridge and Berahino, Sturridge had less off field attitude issues but was very vocal about his disappointments with Chelsea. Injuries aside Liverpool took a punt and got a bargain. SB is the same opportunity for me albeit more expensive.

That well defined plan is pretty simple really.

Ask the manager what he wants and not some director of football.

The problem is the manager hasn't got time to go out and scout players. Find out how much they would cost, wages etc... Find out their history, fitness, attitude etc... Negotiate with the other club and sign the player. Or find if there are more suitable alternatives. All the while training the first team.

This is why you need more than one person.

Getting him out regardless is a good deal for us. I'm pretty sure we can't expect anyone to pay us for him.

He's not a team-player. I've never once got that sense from him. That's my main concern.

I'd actually rather Moses between the two (gun to head) as he is blood and guts for the team.
