Concerning ITK, it has to be said. Anyone with any sense could see that closing the English transfer window ~3 weeks before the rest of Europe would leave our clubs at a massive disadvantage. There are benefits to closing the window before the start of the season (although I think even that is arguable) but not if we're the only fuckers doing it.

Levy is absolutely going to have to man up and get our incomings sorted with or without outgoings. I still wonder exactly what Poch meant when he said the club needs to be brave but I'm assuming it's this. I suppose doing fuck all and carrying on with the same first team as last season while everyone around us strengthens would also be pretty brave...

I thought last summer was bad, this is shaping up to be so much worse, so depressing after the net spend an excitement in Jan etc, I didn't get too excited as knew it would blow up with Levy.

seriously depressing though but surely levy playing with fire here with some key players and Poch by not backing the team again! just hope something more than Grealish happens

Surely the promoted clubs could do with someone like Llorente or Sissoko as they are prem proven and probably need to be priced right. Nkoudou and Janssen would be harder to shift but loans to cut the wage bill should be possible

So let me get this right...

We've gone from 150m net spend to only Grealish in because of previous poor signings?

Fucking lolz.

you obviously stopped reading after the 1st piece of ITK, because I have since seen that the final net would be 30-50m

At least we won’t ‘do a Leeds’, the grass isn’t greener and we’ve been careful what we wish for.

#countyourblessings

But seriously, I’m still going to wait until the window closes before I start on Levy and the BSoDL. He might still surprise you.

Good grief, now even the 'Nice A&C' is back. This window really is a shambles

I think in light of this new ITK everyone needs to remember we are all allowed opinions. If posters want to remain positive and optimistic then great! If others voice their concerns, frustrations and worry then they should be allowed to without petty name calling etc.

We all want what is best for the club and to start winning trophies. Lets hope we pull off a miracle as it looks like we need one currently.

Surprised levy hasn't gone for Meyer he is definitely in Levys price bracket

End of the day I refuse to panick over signings happening or not
We already have a cracking squad and the money side of things is absolutely barking now if we didn't already have a great squad we would be in big trouble as I just can't see levy/Lewis seeing value in today's market. :(

I agree we have a cracking squad but in this day and age if you dont continue to improve and add to it then you get left behind, not to mention players will leave. Personally I want to win things now and not just end up saying we finished in the top 4 for another season. Fingers crossed we get that!

How about waiting till it closes mate
"Hey, I know the Titanic is taking on water, but how about we wait until it actually sinks before we panic!'

:sneaky:

I hope Levy pulls something out of his arse, because its likely to be a diamond....but, surely you can understand the frustration building.

Comparing the situation to the titanic is hyperbole. Whatever happens, we are finishing this window with one of the best teams and squads in the league.

Good news on Dembele as well actually. I still think he has another year in him. Maybe not as a regular starter but at least to be a key part of the squad. I really fancy Winks to push on provided he's over his injury. But could really do with Dembele staying around for another season while he develops that bit more.

Yes he may want a small squad but im sure he expected more players out & replaced with ‘1 or 2’ quality players. As you said keeping our best players is top priority & every year I think that but this year I seem to have been caught up in the hysteria!

if you have been here since the start, we have tried to get players de Ligt and Martial, WTF do you expect us to do kidnap them and refuse to let them back until the other team sells. sometimes if the goalpost are moved it then makes those deals impossible, and after hearing that de Ligt had gone from mid 40m to 70m and then wanting us to loan back for 2 seasons, and Man U refusing to sell to a rival what do you then expect us to do.

Yeah ok but, we won't know any different until it happens. We're still being told players are coming in, so why are people losing their shit when we don't know who they are yet?

Because we don't know who they are yet, so folks are worried it's going to be returns for Steven Caulker, Andy Booth and Federico Fazio.
