What are the chances of Hughton taking some of the deadwood to Birmingham?

no chance. all our deadwood fancy themselves as footballers with a passion. their ego wont allow them to play for club like that let alone drop a division and im sure wages

Christ,we have Hughton at Birmingham,Jol at Fulham and Comolli at Liverpool and we still can't shift anyone!

I guess that's really not that much of a surprise seeing as they bought most of them for us.

I met David bentley earlier this evening at the kings of Leon gig at Hyde park! I thought he would be really arrogrant but he wasn't at all. Surprised me he was in with all us normal fans (none VIP) anyway I had about 2 second chat with him while had my picture taken with him and asked him if he was staying with us & he said he yes! Now dispite him saying that my guess is still he will probably leave us this summer. As can't see him having much of future with us part from as a squad player. But thought just pass on what he said to me.

I think this goes to show that footballers will not simply tell your average fan their plans about transfers etc. Bentley is likely to leave the club and I'm sure he knows it. This is why I find it so difficult to believe people when they say I bumped into so and so and he told me all of his plans about where he will go and who else will be joining.

I'm going to be the odd one out here and say I don't rate Vucinic, but if we signed him I'd support him, just that we already have a 1 in 3 striker in Pav.

But maybe that's cos they play him far left?

No idea. I'm going to be honest and say I've never seen Vucinic play. I've heard of him, but whether or not he's any good? Fuck knows.

I'm sure you're all thankful for my contribution.

I'm in the same position, just basing him on stats really but he's proclaimed as brilliant so I'll trust this lots judgement. You're in for it if he turns out shit though! haha.

Vucinic is a great player but he plays in Bale's best position. If we sold Bale then Vucinic would be a fantastic replacement but I struggle to see how they could both play in the same team.

You seem to have replaced Dawson with Gallas... I mean, he is our team captain now... And why no Lennon?

See this is the kind of comment I don't get. How can you say you 'don't rate him' if you've never even seen him play and are basing your opinion on stats? That's as ridiculous as Sven taking Walcott to the World Cup having never seen him play because Paedo said he was a fast runner and better than Defoe or Bent.

I'm not having a go but those two statements... Also, saying we already have a 1 in 3 striker in Pav is rather assuming that 1 in 3 isn't a good ratio for a striker? It's a perfectly good ratio and you'll struggle to find much better in the league. Vucinic pisses all over Pav in every department.

Anyone who hasn't seen him play should really not be basing their 'analysis' on his stats of goals to games in the last couple of seasons.

Vucinic is a great player but he plays in Bale's best position. If we sold Bale then Vucinic would be a fantastic replacement but I struggle to see how they could both play in the same team.

No he doesn't. For a start for Roma he plays much further forward than Bale, not at left-midfield or winger, but as a left-forward. Secondly Vucinic doesn't play on the left because it's his best position, he just plays there because it fits Roma's current system (and bloody Totti always has to play up front on his own) and he is well capable of playing in that role. He is also very capable of playing up front through the middle and has done so regularly for Roma, which is when he's scored most of his goals.

He offers far more flexibility than any of our current lot and is more talented than any of them. He would be a massive upgrade and him and Leandro, with two going out would represent an incredibly successful transfer window.

Adebayor would be faaaaarrr better for us than Vucinic

how many players actually come from Seria A to the EPL and don't flop?

Adebayor is a proven beast in the EPL and would suit our style to a tee

he would complete us along with a youngster like Leandro

Adebayor, Pavlyuchenko, Leandro :hump:

Vucinic would still be great. I don't think it make much difference that he plays in Italy. That is like saying how many Hondurans can play football, but there are always exceptions to the rule and you just have to judge each case individually. Vucinic is a class act who has struggled a little at Roma mainly because of the Totti factor.

Adebayor would be excellent too. In fact they could quite easily play together Vucinic's class and Adebayor's power. I'd be very happy with either.

I seriously can't think of a single player coming to the EPL from Seria A and being any good or not considered a flop of the top of my head. Shevchenko, Aquilani, Maccarone, Veron. I'd be wary of signing Vucinic as he's been in Italy so long it could take him awhile to adapt if he ever did at all but for a good low price he might be worth the risk. Didn't he say some rather disrespectful stuff about Tottenham afew seasons ago when we were linked to him?
