why are people focusing on Bentaleb and Pritchard, most people had figured they might go. N'Jie staying despite the fact its been widely reported by good french sources that he's completed his medical for OM. is surely the bigger news here

Sorry but that isn't what is being said by Pochettino. All he is saying N'Jie isn't on the tour because he is injured. That doesn't mean he is in Pochettinos plans necessarily. It is most likely a diplomatic way of not speaking the full truth and not getting involved in questions about a potential transfer back to France.

Yeah I may have jumped the gun there and made my own conclusions, but it does go against everything we have heard about N'Jie, and what does it mean for GKN, if thats meant to be done in the next few days

What goes against what we have heard about N'Jie ? Pochettino hasn't said anything other than to confirm N'Jie isn't on the tour because of an 'injury'.

Well that he is not "not in Poch's plans" as both media and ITK have said N'Jie has been told he will barely get any playing time, if he stays and would be behind the pecking order, and that he's agreed to go to OM. I found it weird that, Poch called out Bentaleb and Pritchard and Fazio, so he is clearly not trying to avoid transfer questions. It could be what you said, that he's just avoiding getting involved with N'Jie's transfer, but then why call out other players

I'm sorry to have caused confusion. CH is a typing miss of CM.

To get Kovacic or other La Liga players(e.g. Trigueros and Parejo) is very useful for the quality of the squad. And at the same time, useful for Winks and Onomah. Because young England players are needed to loan spell to develop themselves.

About 4th choice CB, why anybody don't mention Dominic Ball?

Surely the idea is to get the players you want. Even with an unlimited budget e.g. the Chavs and Mancs, you don't always get your first choice and have to settle for an alternative. So if you get the players you are happy with, and do it on a net spend, what's the problem? It means that you are running the club well and have the budget to give the appropriate players a rise, or offer more money in the next window if you want, or have, to buy.

In all seriousness, so what if it is? The manager has the players he wants so surely that is all that matters.

Agreed, I for one like how he seems to answer questions with a straight bat. I'd imagine that if he does that in private too, no matter what the answer is I would imagine at least the players are happy to know where they stand.

Interesting comments from Potch about Pritchard which ties in nicely with The Goats info yesterday. Does anyone know if any of our coaches would have traveled to see him training while he was on loan last season? I'm never sure how much we monitor players while they are on loan.

And Potch can't really say that N'Jie isn't in his plans if we're currently negotiating a transfer fee for him can he? Surely we'd be telling the other side that he's still in our plans to maximize the transfer fee?

I can't hide my disappointment at the latest developments, particularly in regards to Pritch and Bentaleb. However, it's exciting to see players like Onomah, Winks and Edwards hopefully getting a chance. Best to look to the future and clearly there are more malleable prospects identified with the squad by MP and team.

Interesting to see what happens with N'jie/N'koudou now.
