Imagine: it's 10pm deadline day, joint fee agreed for Isco and Rodriguez, medicals done, wages agreed... Levy thinks, "this is too easy", tries to renegotiate with Madrid, madrid tell us to fuck off, jay Rodriguez signs from Southampton on loan with minutes to go, "we are delighted with the summer acquisitions" says levy.

Perhaps not ideal, but far better than carrying on with no one to push Eriksen or Alli.
I agree, but it just feels like an avoidable scenario. What I don't understand is why would Madrid want him back? He's been there for two years, had enough chances, if he's not deemed good enough for this season then I thought they'd be looking to offload him for a fee.

Out:

Yedlin
Bentaleb (reluctantly)
Mason (sadly)
Chadli (unfortunately)

In:
Wanyama
Jansen
Ndokou/Zaha
Isco
Pau

Would be fucking delighted with that transfer window.
Well he's but with 3 days to go, half of those ins are very unlikely!

Meh. Loan. Unless we have a fixed option to buy then i dont see the point.

He has a stunning season on loan but man city could gazump us next summer if it suits them?

Im sure Levy will get us a water tight deal. But why not do a permanent deal now?

From hertyid on COYS re: ISCO

I waited all day to hear back from my guy on this. He's currently in Malta, no idea why.
He says it's not bullshit, we have been speaking with his dad all week (?), Madrid want him away at least one year on loan and we have been trying to negotiate a deal with them that gets around his buyout clause for the permanent option next summer (I don't know what this is).
Will come down to the player, apparently Milan (or Inter, I could work out who he meant) also chasing. Player doesn't really want to leave Madrid but game time likely to be limited.

AC Milan is the rumoured club , atleast going by news reports

Haha. I can see why Levy wants Zaha now, similar traits in beating their man only to want to go back and do it again just to show how effortless it is for them, only for them to fuck it all up.

Do we know what his buyout clause is?

Isco
Why don't we try speaking to the player instead of their dads? (n)

Come on. Oldest trick in the book buttering up the mother of the girl you want bed.

No different with young footballers one would think. (Of course seeking different end goal) I expect Isco has asked his father for advice many times, part and parcel of parenting.

No harm building a nice rapport with his dad, for it might just be his dad that sways his decision to join us :)

I think bottom line is Madrid want to get rid of 1 player - James, Kovacic or Isco. Whoever gets the acceptable permanent offer goes. Others stay. Juve are looking to sign Matuidi. If they fail, they have Kovacic as option. They also have James on their radar. If anyone of the deals happens, Isco stays. So, basically its a waiting game IMO, which is the last thing we need.

It sounds like Juve are pulling the plug on the Matuidi deal.

We were never going to get relegated last year mate and yes it is only 3 games in but i have been seriously underwhelmed by what Ive seen thus far.
Im sure we Will settle down eventually but even this early Im looking at the two Manchester teams and both look good, and to think some on here actually thought We could win the title this year.
That of course wont happen nor will we be relegated instead a respectable 5th-7th seems right for us imo.
Man City won their first 6 games last season scoring 11 goals and conceding none. 99.9% of football people said the league was all over by the end of September and then we beat them 4-1 and they ended up in 4th. Having said that 4th is a tough ask this year and very unlikely. Isco is a minimum just to give us a chance of top 4 this year
