I wondered when this would surface.

I remember when Berba was linked with a move away after his first season, the rags linked us with Crouch as a replacement - and BMJ was very complimentary of him (much to the disgust of SC).

Very true. Plus he's improved all round as a player anyway since leaving United. He's a far more intelligent player than he used to be. Sort of reminds about what Giggs was saying (in between all the illicit shagging) about how as he got older he was able to compensate for his reduced speed because he knew how to make the most of the space on the pitch.
