Will be interesting to see if we do shift out the vast majority of those listed by Trix. It will be a huge shift in the squad, and something we dearly need.

Let’s all hope the players we don’t know about that JJ has alluded too can add to a better mentality in the squad going forward

Definitely. I think for the fans with how much (rightly or wrongly) vitriol has built up for most of the players noted, it’ll be enormous for the atmosphere in the stadium and around the club. Sure, it won’t prevent certain supporters from deciding a player isn’t good enough based off their first couple of performances if they don’t go well, but they will most likely be afforded more leeway/support then the outgoing group.

Nuno and the PR team has done a good job building a more positive atmosphere through our Social Media, so continuing that with some changes with the playing personnel will only see that furthered, in my opinion. Sounds like Paratici may be of that same opinion, too.

If Dier and Sanchez are both up for sale, with Alderweireld already gone, I can well see we’ll only sell one of the two - too much change can be destabilising, for all that the squad needs serious refreshing. And as the younger player I can well believe Sanchez is seen as the more attractive player to other clubs (from memory Sevilla and other Spanish clubs were linked a few days ago?), although I’m surprised if there’s absolutely no interest in Dier.

Sissoko to the Middle East definitely makes sense - he plays for the World champions and was part of their Euros squad, so could presumably be seen as a high-profile acquisition for one of the leagues out there.

Stevie and Lucas have a lot to give but there is a lack of consistency. All those listed by trix wouldn’t affect our first 11 in any way and when you see those being linked to come in, plus Gil, sess, skipp, tanganga providing the replacement in as squad players effectively it makes sense to move them on and redistribute the wages to the incomings (although less so the overall squad reduces). On dier there is the fact that he’s fluent in Portuguese which could be of benefit in nunos first season and he could be a senior figure in European games for example when more of the younger players get a run out. For his limitations he has played CL and at a World Cup so is a good player with experience to share

I’d imagine clubs in Qatar would be trying to get a few international players in to try and give some credibility to their league before the World Cup.
Not sure they'll ever get any credibility for their farce of a WC after all the bungs they paid FIFA & all the poor buggers they've killed!

Anyway, thanks for the info Trix, much appreciated ?

If all goes well, by the close of the window we’ll be supporting a club like the ship of Theseus (Trigger’s Broom for the less cultured).

I haven't seen any ITK that suggests interest in Dier from any other club, or any intention from THFC that he be sold. Have I missed something? If not, I suspect what is happening is that some fans' desire to see him gone is seeing him included on lists of potential outgoings where he doesn't belong.

His name kept coming up before the transfer window opened, along with Sanchez, Winks and Sissoko, and I said then that I would be surprised to see him depart. I haven't seen anything to change my mind about that.

Dragon:

We are close on Romero now but differing to some media posts no agreement has been reached But we are close on numbers and player wants the move

in a twist they want the Japanese lad as his replacement , we have an agreement in place for the boy and not willing to let Atlanta have him which slows the Romero deal down as they want a replacement in before letting him leaves

Wow! That is astonishing. I was beginning to suspect that we were perhaps after Demiral as well and they had got wind of that idea, which was why they were adamant to have their replacement sorted before letting Romero sign, but it Tomiyasu they want! Unbelievable!

I’m sure Tomiyasu would have the final say in where he wants to go. And if he wants us then there’s not much Atlanta can do about it.

We should take Tomiyasu on a loan option with a compulsory purchase fee agreed and then go back to Atalanta and say ‘ok bitches let’s dance’.

Its not that astonishing for me, as Atalanta made a bid to sign Tomiyasu ,well before we came into the picture.
It should have slowed things down a bit, especially given Demiral is also a Juve player like Romero been.

In the end, I hope we get Tomiyasu, Romero across the line, and Juve get Locateli preventing Arsenal to go for him.

We have agreed a deal with Tomiyasu and his club Bologna does anyone think that all three parties are going to walk away and the player go to Atalanta instead??
Absolute tosh, why would Bologna accept a lower fee and Tomiyasu accept lower wages just so we, who would no longer have any connection with either of them, can buy another player entirely.
It's so bloody stupid I wonder how anyone can come up with it. Utter nonsense.

The power with the Romero deal lies with the money. Atalanta have only got clout if we chose to give it to them. They have already bought one player with money they don’t have. If we walk they are stuffed. The only weapon they seem to be wielding now is stalling. Time to put our foot down, do the deal, and get as far away from them as we can. Paratici seems to be doing jut that.
