State of us if we sign this journeyman.

Devine, White, or John would do just as well.

Why not give them some minutes?
Playing youth ain't Conte's thing. He values experience and I don't think he's really played youth players at any of his clubs. Tanganga and Skipp is about his limit I reckon.

Amrabat is massively uninspiring but I can live with it as a short term loan to cover our arses if Lo Celso/Ndombele leave provided we go after our main CM targets in the summer when they're available.

He basically looks like another PEH, though, and one PEH is more than enough.

Think you're thinking of his brother Nordin as the journeyman.

But yes, doesnt make situation any better. Its absolutely embarrassing.

If its a short term loan and he is better than our youth midfielders then it might work for just adding some depth.
Even if he is better he would probably need 6 months or so to get used to the pace of Premiership. If we want depth we should upgrade on Winks, Dele, PEH, GLC or TN.

He played most matches for Verona/ Fiorentina last couple of seasons so I hope FP/ Conte have seen something we won’t be able to from stats/vids.

Can’t say I’m excited by this though.

Horrible feeling things are about to get really ugly.

Ally G called it in the summer when we were linked. We are hiring a manager that deserves backing and we are not in a position to do it. So frustrating.

I don't think the vast majority of fans will have any patience and are going ro lose their shit very quickly.

Just hope Conte has the patience to stick with us as this doesn't look like it will be a very good first window for him.

If this is Conte being backed, god forbid what him not being backed looks like. Paratici just been sat on his phone playing Scrabble all month?

Conte being backed looks like Ndombele, Lo Celso and Alli being binned out of the squad on his say so, in spite of whatever absurd value Levy places upon them.

The fact we are waiting for Fiorentina to sell Vlahovic to Juve before loaning this clogger from them shows the true level of our ambition.

If we don't buck our ideas up this week I genuinely think Conte walks and we end up in a Newcastle/Mike Ashley scenario where the whole world knows we want our owners out.

Nothing like waking up to the ITK thread that reads like the Leicester thread in the 90th minute. onions and conjecture everywhere without really knowing what is going to happen. sure we have a pavlovian response to transfer windows and the links to lesser players is underwhelming but it's like a feeding frenzy in here where the sharks are feeding more off each other anytime a bait fish or snippet wanders in. My pitchfork is in the garage until the window is over.

Conte himself has repeatedly said that January is a very difficult window because no clubs want to sell their best players (except Fiorentina and Everton apparently).

It's either pay absolutely crazy money for our first choice targets now, which we're never going to do, or tide ourselves over until the summer when we do our real business.

I agree we should be aiming higher than Amrabat as a loan option (Villa are being much more ambitious than we are with the loans they are targetting) but he's clearly seen as a short-term stop gap rather than a proper signing.

If we're still aiming for Amrabat-level players come the summer that's when we should be worried and start kicking off.
