The fact we are waiting for Fiorentina to sell Vlahovic to Juve before loaning this clogger from them shows the true level of our ambition.

If we don't buck our ideas up this week I genuinely think Conte walks and we end up in a Newcastle/Mike Ashley scenario where the whole word knows we want our owners out.

Same owners, different managers.

We should be genuinely embarrassed by the current state of affairs. Yes, January is a tough window, but we’ve taken 25 days to seemingly decide what we need are two squad players from Wolves and Fiorentina.

I think it truly shows the difficulty of signing a player in the January transfer window.

Conte has no intention of walking irrespective of if we buy anyone or not this window, and I'd bet anyone in here on that. That is all media bullshit talk.

Conte himself has repeatedly said that January is a very difficult window because no clubs want to sell their best players (except Fiorentina and Everton apparently).

It's either pay absolutely crazy money for our first choice targets now, which we're never going to do, or tide ourselves over until the summer when we do our real business.

I agree we should be aiming higher than Amrabat as a loan option (Villa are being much more ambitious than we are with the loans they are targetting) but he's clearly seen as a short-term stop gap rather than a proper signing.

If we're still aiming for Amrabat-level players come the summer that's when we should be worried and start kicking off.

I am in the same camp as you. I am okay with this deal if it allows us to get the right players out.

Just don't think the majority will feel the same way.

So Contes must sign striker is going to Juve so to placate him we will give him Amrabat on loan for 6 months?

Would love to be a fly on the wall in Contes office next Tuesday when levy and Paratici are explaining why January window didn't work out as planned

Excuses Excuses, yes January can be a difficult window, but every window is seemingly difficult for us, even a manager with ambition, is unable to change to that.

That in itself is where the problem is at, a leopard never changes it’s spots.

He won't walk now as there is no jobs available and he's earning top wages. However, i'm convinced he'd walk early in the summer if he isn't backed with big signings. Some top jobs likely to be available in summer and they'd all be keen to get conte in.

We might as well wait a week and then judge when the window is closed. We are still in a good position for top 4, if the club want to jeopardise that by not backing Conte that'll be on them.

Massive week of big decisions for Levy.

Shit player
It's only a loan player to see us through to the end of the season and if he is shit as people are claiming then he goes back to whence he came. No big risk as I see it and better than having ndombele sitting in the training ground for the rest of the season.

This forum gets so toxic so quickly
It does. However, it seems like we are a mess, in terms of finances and planning.

We have appointed a rolls Royce of a manager, bit expect him to work with a Ford fiesta.

People are worried that he will walk.

In parallel, Levy has doubled our season ticket prices for inferior football.

I don't want us to spend stupid money, just have a plan.

It all smacks of opportunism.

This is getting to be a concern now. If this is the level of player we can afford we can't compete.
