We shouldn't be paying more than that for a player that's only played in Portugal IMO. If it's not enough then so be it but it has disaster written all over it at a record fee.
... meanwhile, in the Lo Celso thread posters castigating Levy for not buying Bruno Fernandes.

A last minute link to an exciting attacking player? Wow! That’s never happened before, bet this concludes quickly and successfully.

I mean, Bruno and Dias are pretty good examples of when we should’ve pushed the boat out for a Portuguese based player.
Sure, but Bruno was about the same price as we've supposedly bid for Luis Diaz and was banging goals in from CM. Not sure we could've got Ruben Dias if City weren't interested but if you're a cb the one place that it'll be easy for you is City. Not discrediting him but Varane has struggled at United, might've been different if the two players ended up at the opposite club.

I get that sneaky feeling that Paratici has something in the works with making Juve able to put up 75m for Vlahovic... Could there be a All-in from our side Mckennie or Dybala ? haha (dream thinking)

There is no way that Juve can put up 75m without moving eighter Kulusevski or Dybala on and we make our Diaz interest official put ourselves in a good situation

THE most reliable portuguese journo. He also goes on to say that he is away with colombia, making any deal very difficult.

So looking forward to the sad bed-wetters, miserable implodes on here close of window ???

Whilst I confuse everyone?
We can laugh at grown men throwing hissy fits sure, but it's only because we have been here before time and time again... We have money, we will spend this time, then we don't and repeat.

We have a manager that is way out of our league and if he isn't backed he will walk.

We've heard DV was his main target, we've had ITK tell us not to worry about Arse getting him, now when he's going to Juve of course people will be upset.

It's ok to laugh, but most of us aren't privy to the info you and others get so from our perspective things aren't looking good and yes may have a mini meltdown in here.

We are supporters and love this team. Of course emotions can run high but let's have a bit of respect for each other.

But we do spend money. But because it's not who our fans think we should spend it on, it's viewed as not good enough.

If Conte wants Amrabat, then getting him on loan with a reasonable purchase option IS backing the manager, is it not?

You can't build a team without some glue guys that are willing to do the dirty work, not every signing has to be a glamour signing. Character matters, as we're seeing with our current available midfielders.

So from the translated version of that Lopes article it doesn't come across as a total rejection.

The article seems to suggest Porto and/or the player are hoping this flushes out a Liverpool or Utd. Will be interesting to see what happens if that doesn't materialise in the next couple of days.

The key here is Conte. There was a throwaway comment in the Chelsea commentary about us needing Conte more than he needs us, therefore it’s a case of back him or lose him.
It’s always said by the ITK’s on here, transfers/transfer windows have so many fluidly moving parts, it makes them difficult to predict or understand with any great certainty.
Whilst we (as fans) may want top tier additions in right now, Conte/Paratici may have an eye on the longer game, eg Amrabat now on a cheap loan to fill a squad gap whilst we move on Lo Celso, Ndombele and Alli, may just mean we are in a stronger position too be for Kessie in the summer if he wants to wait, and then we get him for free (albeit signing on fees etc), and the money saved from trying to buy him out of Milan now may just allow us extra flex on another deal, Traore or Diaz etc.
So long as Conte is onboard with the plan, then we have to just accept it, because he’s already made a big difference with Nuno/Jose’s squad, what can he do with his own choices.

Doesn't sound to me like it's the end of the story though? New name is fun though.
