I really don't understand all the panic and doom and gloom.

We've still got 85 hours or so to go, that's more than enough time for several more transfers to fall through.

No, apparently Trix was frustrated with all the negativity and has posted on one of the player threads “see you Tuesday “ and I don’t blame him one bit.

The behaviour and attitudes on here has basically driven away ITK. Reap what you sow, people.
Cannot winner this enough. A time and a place people.
The time is after the window is shut.

I agree to an extent. But as it stands this may now be our third transfer target who has opted to join another club over us. The stature of those clubs doesn't make this continuing trend any less disappointing.

I agree but it's even more concerning that we've got Conte as manager, yet still these players are more than content to run elsewhere.
As we know this is all the knock on effect of Levy sitting and twiddling his thumbs for two years, whilst letting the squad grow stale and league table positions drop.
Hard not to hit on Enic right now but I'll stay quiet as rules should be followed.

Gutting to see Liverpool come in but as we know, they're light years ahead of us both on and off the pitch and from what I've heard (not seen enough of Diaz to speak myself) this player deserves the very best.

Does anyone know, who has some insider knowledge, how much Conte would be involved in a transfer? I presume he'd give a green light for certain players but would he be speaking to them about how he saw they'd fit in the team or just generally pushing why Spurs is the best option.
I always thought Fergie went down that personal route and I've heard Klopp does but I was wondering if that's what AC does.
Conte is our big pull at the moment. We're not one of the big hitters but we're interested in the same pool of players they are so how are we leveraging ourselves?

Surely if Mendez keeps on doing this paratici is going to get more annoyed and will end up ruining his relationship with us?

As I said in the Diaz thread, whether we met their price Day 1 or Day 31, Liverpool were never going to let this happen if they could prevent it by the looks of things. So in that situation you leave it late in the hope they don't. But it seems they've mobilised!
But you go early and if you get rejected you then have time to find other decent options... Instead of scraping around in the bargain bucket.

Its like a 2/10 asking 10/10s out

Then a 9/10 comes to ask that 10/10 out

We are two Bob and need to accept it. We are going for these targets but they are always going to choose these clubs over us

We had our chance at being a big club and blew it. Players like Arambrat are our level in this window

The shame is, there is no way Conte sticks around. He must be realising quickly we are mid tier in everything except our facilities

I’m now at the point where I just want Arambrat in, because the fear is getting me ?
Ok using your theory, right there as you wrote it, Conte thinks Amrabat is the 10/10!
Maybe, just maybe, Conte likes him and he could do the job in the big picture.
I know its a hard thought to grasp.
Maybe its true!

No. In the same way they don't check ours.

Twitter has made it worse, but it's ultimately a Spurs echo chamber which when put against the Football Twitterverse is a dot. Again, this probably hasn't scratched the surface of other football fans. I've certainly got no abuse yet, and my mates are usually the first to pull the trigger. ****s.

Spurs Twitter is an absolute cesspit now, more than ever before which is an achievement. Completely eaten itself with revelling in any negativity it can. Some absolutely love it. You can see it moving into here, which is frustrating as it used to not be as bad as this. Lots of anger.

I think us getting amrabat is the third part of the theory when the 2/10 gives up shooting so high and manages to snag a 3/10.

Hopefully he turns out good and helps us get 4th but lets be realisitc he was unlikely to be top of contes "like" list, we've just gone really far down that list now....

I think the genuine worry people have over this window is exacerbated by the shut down of leaks from the club. It’s (per Paul O’Keefe) a deliberate intention from Spurs to do so. That feeling of not knowing what’s happening, or what the overall strategy or plan is, makes it hard to interpret what we’re doing. Also makes things like the Traore mess hard to understand (did we want him? Did conte not fancy him? Was he a last minute “it’ll do” we had up our sleeves?)

We all love the ITK provided but we’ve seen since Paratici has come in, that a fair few deals whether completed or not, we’ve had not even a sniff of. I think this clampdown has made it unjustly and unfortunately toxic for those providing ITK, as people are so starved to see the “big picture” that any ITK is picked to death and treated as absolute gospel. That’s not fair on them. They are just passing on info in good faith, and unless their info comes from Paratici himself, people can’t be annoyed if whatever they pass on doesn’t happen exactly. I think sometimes the ITKs get the brunt of peoples frustrations when they are just trying to help provide some clarity into the clubs plans. They are fans like the rest of us.

Reckon we all just need to be a bit calmer, I know it’s easier said than done, I was annoyed to wake up to the Diaz to pool news also, but I’m sure if come Feb 1st we have only Amrabat in, we will all have ample opportunity to vent about Levy/ENIC/Paratici in their appropriate threads!

Absolutely great post and I think you're right. People have forgotten what the notion of ITK is despite being reminded of it weekly in this thread.

It's not looking great, admittedly. However I will wait until Tuesday morning until completely giving up. I'm still optimistic that we have a few things going on behind the scenes (absolutely no idea who though!)

If we don't sign anyone this window I think I'm gonna give this place a wide berth for a few weeks!

I'm willing to wait until the deadline finishes mate but can you blame fans being negative and dismayed if we dont move in this window. Being negative doesnt make you a bad fan.

So you think as a club and a manager Spurs and Conte are a 2/10?
Because that's what you said!

Of course not, but repeating it numerous times a day in every thread is annoying and that is what a series of posters have been doing. We don't all need bringing down to their levels of doom and gloom. I like a moan as much as the next man, but sometimes it is just out of our control. I also don't necessarily believe people should wait until after the window to show their frustrations either but not time and time again.

You know another story of us being in for x, y or z will break later today and it may or may not be true. So lets just wait and see what happens there. I'm more concerned about PSG possibly getting cold feet over Ndombele according to l'equipe.

Being negative also doesn't mean that you should fill up every thread with your endless negative posts.

Totally agree, I wasn't going say anything as I'll still keep coming here. This is not a reflection of the transfer window, but this thread has gone down hill. Not blaming anyone, but I preferred it how it used to be. Would start the day reading some cryptic bullshit from A&C and anyone who took the thread off in a different direction was gone, the thread was run very well. Twitter probably is to blame, it's a shame, but things change.

Nobody is saying don't be negative, but being negative over something of which we all have no control over is unhealthy

Do we have any latest comment from ITK to settle us and assure us or does silence speak volumes - as in its a s bad as we thought?
I think too many on here rely too much on ITK. All they can do is pass on some of what they know but they don’t make the decisions (I assume); they don’t read peoples minds; they don’t know what last minute twists and turns are going on from all the parties involved.

So I thank those who give us ITK but don’t take any of it as gospel truth. It’s a much better way of keeping stability.

I do get cross and what I perceive as poor team selections, tactics and more relevant here methods of negotiations. But I also know that realistically we are not at the top table of clubs players dream of joining

Please can any ITK's give us a glimmer of hope of any signings just to ease the tension? surely things can only get better ?
