I think you've got that wrong. There will be a facelift for White Hart Lane overground station, but there are no plans for a new tube station. The cost of that and extending the Victoria Line accordingly would be massive, and isn't part of the stadium plan.
And improvements to the area, while I'm sure are well meaning, are largely cosmetic and simply exercises to meet our section 106 obligations in building the stadium and ensure we get planning permission and the financial and general backing of the various local and national government bodies. We're talking the building of a Sainsbury and a hotel, plus a few low-cost houses, not full-scale social change to what is, lest we forget, one of the most deprived and impoverished areas in the south of England.
